5.2 Wet Vacuuming

For liquids and wet spills:

  • Remove the filter bag. The HEPA filter should be clean and properly seated, or a foam filter (if provided) should be used for wet applications.
  • Do not overfill the tank. Monitor the liquid level to prevent overflow.
  • Use a suitable wet nozzle.
  • After use, turn off the vacuum, unplug it, and empty the liquid from the tank immediately. Clean and dry the tank thoroughly.

5.3 Ash Vacuuming

For cold ashes from fireplaces, stoves, or grills:

  • Ensure ashes are completely cold before vacuuming to prevent fire hazards.
  • Use the metal hose and crevice tool specifically designed for ash collection.
  • Ensure the HEPA filter is clean and properly installed. Some models may include a specialized ash filter.
  • Do not vacuum hot embers or glowing materials.
  • Empty the tank after each use and clean the filter.

To use the vacuum cleaner as a blower:

  • Disconnect the hose from the suction inlet.
  • Connect the hose to the blower outlet, usually located on the motor head.
  • Ensure the tank is empty and clean.
  • Turn on the vacuum cleaner. Air will now be expelled through the hose, useful for clearing debris from hard-to-reach areas or inflating items.

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum cleaner.

6.1 Emptying the Tank

  • Always unplug the vacuum cleaner before emptying.
  • Release the latches and remove the motor head.
  • Carefully lift and empty the tank. For wet vacuuming, dispose of liquids properly.
  • Clean the inside of the tank with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly before reassembly.

6.2 Filter Cleaning and Replacement

The LEHMANN Haddo features a washable HEPA filter, which retains even the smallest particles for excellent air quality.

  • HEPA Filter: Regularly check the HEPA filter for dirt and debris. To clean, gently tap it to dislodge dust or rinse it under running water. Ensure the filter is completely dry before reinstalling it.
  • Filter Bags: For dry vacuuming, replace filter bags when they are full or when suction power decreases.
  • Foam Filter (for wet use): If using a foam filter for wet vacuuming, rinse it after each use and allow it to air dry completely.
