1. Product Overview

The HiTauing 200W Aquarium Heater is designed to maintain a warm and stable environment for your aquatic pets. This submersible heater features a digital display for precise temperature control and multiple safety mechanisms.

This 200W aquarium heater is intended exclusively for indoor aquarium use and heating. Ensure no part of the heater is covered by filter material or debris to prevent malfunctions.

2. Safety Warnings

Please read all safety warnings carefully before use to prevent injury or product damage.

• Before powering on, inspect the product for any damage. If any damage is found, discontinue use immediately and contact customer support.
• The submersible aquarium heater must be fully submerged in water. The temperature controller unit is not submersible and must not be placed in water.
• Do not disassemble the aquarium heater or make structural modifications. This can lead to product damage and potential injury.
• When cleaning or performing maintenance on the aquarium heater, always disconnect power for 5 to 10 minutes before removing it from the water.
• Ensure the heater is securely installed using the provided suction cups to prevent it from detaching and potentially causing issues.
• This heater is designed for aquariums between 20 to 40 gallons. Using it in tanks outside this range may affect performance.

3. Setup Instructions

1. Unpack and Inspect: Carefully remove the heater and controller from the packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of damage.
2. Position the Heater: Place the submersible heater fully inside your aquarium. Ensure it is positioned vertically or horizontally, completely covered by water. Avoid placing it directly in the substrate or near strong water flow that could dislodge it.
3. Secure with Suction Cups: Use the two provided suction cups to firmly attach the heater to the inner wall of the aquarium. This prevents movement and ensures stable operation.
4. Position the Controller: Mount the external temperature controller in a dry location, away from water splashes. The controller unit is not waterproof.
5. Connect Power: Plug the heater's power cord into a suitable electrical outlet (220V AC).

4. Operating Instructions

The HiTauing aquarium heater features a digital display temperature control system for real-time water temperature monitoring and adjustment.

• Power On: Once plugged in, the digital display on the controller will illuminate.
• Temperature Display: The display shows the current water temperature and the set temperature.
• Adjusting Temperature: The adjustable temperature range is 17 °C to 34 °C (64 °F to 93 °F). Press the temperature setting button to adjust the desired temperature. Each press adjusts the temperature by ± 1 °F/°C.
• Switching Units (°F/°C): Press and hold the temperature setting button for 3 seconds to switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C).
• Heating Indicator: A red light on the controller indicates that the heater is actively heating the water.
• Constant Temperature Indicator: A green light on the controller indicates that the heater has reached the set temperature and is maintaining it.
• Fast Heating: The heater utilizes a high-quality nichrome alloy electric heating wire for efficient and consistent temperature maintenance, reaching the set temperature within minutes. Heating automatically stops once the set temperature is achieved and resumes if the temperature drops.

5. Maintenance

• Regular Cleaning: Over time, algae and mineral deposits may accumulate on the heater. To clean, disconnect the heater from power for 5-10 minutes, then carefully remove it from the aquarium. Gently wipe the heater surface with a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
• Check for Damage: Periodically inspect the heater and power cord for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. If any damage is observed, discontinue use and replace the unit.
• Suction Cup Inspection: Ensure the suction cups remain firmly attached to the aquarium wall. Replace them if they lose their grip.

6. Troubleshooting

• E1 Error Code: If the temperature control system displays an "E1" error code, it indicates that the submersible heater is not fully submerged in water. Immediately unplug the heater, ensure it is completely underwater, and then plug it back in.
• Heater Not Heating:
  • Check if the power cord is securely plugged into the outlet.
  • Verify that the set temperature is higher than the current water temperature.
  • Ensure the heater is fully submerged.
  • Check for any visible damage to the heater or controller.
• Temperature Fluctuation:
  • Ensure the heater is appropriately sized for your aquarium volume (200W for 20-40 gallons).
  • Check for strong drafts or external temperature changes affecting the aquarium.
  • Ensure no filter material or debris is covering the heater, which can impede heat distribution.
