2. Important Safety Instructions
WARNING: When using this product, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

4. Setup and Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble your Sun Joe SPX4300 pressure washer:
- Attach the Handle: Secure the upper handle to the main unit using the provided screws.
- Connect the High-Pressure Hose:
- Connect one end of the 20-foot high-pressure hose to the pressure washer's high-pressure outlet.
- Connect the other end of the high-pressure hose to the spray gun.
- Connect the Water Supply:
- Attach a standard garden hose (not included) to the water inlet on the pressure washer. Ensure the connection is tight to prevent leaks.
- Turn on the water supply completely before starting the pressure washer.
- Attach a Quick-Connect Spray Tip:
- Pull back the collar on the quick-connect lance.
- Insert the desired spray tip (0°, 15°, or 40°) into the collar until it clicks into place.
- Pull on the tip to ensure it is securely fastened.
- Fill the Detergent Tank (Optional): If using the foam cannon, fill the 34-oz tank with appropriate pressure washer detergent.

5. Operating Instructions
Before operating, ensure all connections are secure and the water supply is fully open.
5.1 Starting the Pressure Washer
- Connect the power cord to a grounded GFCI outlet.
- Squeeze the trigger on the spray gun to release any air trapped in the pump and hose. Hold the trigger until a steady stream of water emerges.
- Turn the pressure washer's ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position. The motor will start.
- The Total Stop System (TSS) will automatically shut off the pump when the trigger is not engaged, saving energy and prolonging pump life.
5.2 Using Quick-Connect Spray Tips
The SPX4300 comes with three quick-connect spray tips for various cleaning tasks:
- 0° (Red) Nozzle: For intense, pinpoint cleaning. Use with extreme caution on hard, non-delicate surfaces only.
- 15° (Yellow) Nozzle: For aggressive cleaning of small areas, such as removing stubborn stains.
- 40° (White) Nozzle: For gentle cleaning of large areas, such as vehicles, boats, and patio furniture.
To change tips: Always turn off the pressure washer and disconnect the water supply before changing spray tips.

5.3 Using the Foam Cannon
- Fill the 34-oz foam cannon with pressure washer-safe detergent.
- Attach the foam cannon to the quick-connect lance.
- Operate the pressure washer as usual. The foam cannon will mix detergent with the high-pressure water, creating a rich foam for cleaning.
- After applying detergent, remove the foam cannon and reattach a spray tip to rinse the surface.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pressure washer.
6.1 Cleaning the Nozzle
If the nozzle becomes clogged, use the provided needle clean-out tool to clear any debris from the nozzle opening.
6.2 Water Inlet Filter
Periodically check the water inlet filter for debris. Clean it by rinsing under running water. A clean filter prevents dirt from entering the pump.
6.3 Storage
Store the pressure washer in a dry, covered area where it will not freeze. Freezing temperatures can damage the pump.
6.4 Winterization (Cold Weather Storage)
If storing the unit in an area where the temperature will drop below 32°F (0°C), you must winterize the unit to prevent damage:
- Disconnect all water connections.
- Turn on the machine for a few seconds until any remaining water in the pump exits. Turn off immediately.
- Do not allow the pressure washer to run dry for more than a few seconds.
- Store the unit in a heated room or use a pump protector/antifreeze solution designed for pressure washers.
