6. Maintenance and Software Update
6.1. General Care
Keep the device clean and dry. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight. Store in a safe place when not in use.
6.2. Software Updates
The KW600 supports lifetime software updates. To update the software, connect the device to a Windows PC (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10, 32/64 bit OS) using the Mini-USB cable. Follow the instructions provided with the KONNWEI update software. This ensures your device has the latest features and bug fixes.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Device Not Powering On
Ensure the battery clamps are securely connected to the correct terminals (red to positive, black to negative). The device draws power directly from the battery; if the battery is completely discharged, the tester may not power on. Try charging the battery first or testing with a known good battery.
7.2. Inaccurate Readings
Verify that the correct battery type and CCA rating have been entered into the device. Ensure battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion for optimal contact. If testing in-vehicle, ensure all accessories are off before starting the test.
7.3. Software Update Issues
Software updates are only compatible with Windows operating systems (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, 32/64 bit). Ensure you are using a compatible OS and the correct update software from KONNWEI.
