4.2 App Installation and Wi-Fi Connection

The BROAIMX Smart Bird Feeder requires the "Bird Lover" app for full functionality. Download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

1. Download the App: Search for "Bird Lover" in your device's app store and install it.
2. Create Account: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new user account.
3. Add Device: In the app, select "Add Device" or the "+" icon.
4. Power On Feeder: Ensure the camera module is powered on.
5. Connect to Wi-Fi: The camera only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. It does not support 5GHz Wi-Fi. Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network during the setup process. Follow the app's instructions to connect the feeder to your home Wi-Fi, which typically involves scanning a QR code displayed on your phone with the feeder's camera.
6. Placement: Choose a location with a strong 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. The effective Wi-Fi distance is approximately 49 feet (15 meters). If the signal is weak, consider using a Wi-Fi repeater.

4.3 Physical Installation

The feeder can be mounted using the included tree strap or screws.

• Strap Mounting: Wrap the wear-resistant tree strap around a tree trunk or sturdy pole and secure the feeder using the designated slots.
• Screw Mounting: Use appropriate screws (not always included, check package) to mount the feeder to a flat surface like a wall or fence post.
• Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive maximum direct sunlight throughout the day for optimal charging.
• Fill the bird seed compartment with your preferred bird seed.
• Attach and fill the water container and fruit/suet cage as desired.

5.1 Real-time Monitoring and Alerts

Once connected, you can monitor your bird feeder live through the "Bird Lover" app. The 1080P HD camera provides a 130-degree wide-angle view, allowing you to see visiting birds day and night.

• Live View: Open the app to access the live video feed from your feeder.
• App Alerts: Receive real-time notifications on your phone when motion is detected, indicating a bird or other animal has approached the feeder.
• Two-Way Audio: The built-in microphone allows you to listen to the birds. You can also use the two-way audio feature to speak through the feeder, which can be used to deter squirrels or other unwanted visitors.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Feeder

Regular cleaning is essential for the health of visiting birds and the longevity of your feeder. The feeder is designed for easy disassembly for cleaning.

• Remove the bird seed, water container, and fruit/suet cage.
• Clean all parts with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
• Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and refilling.
• Do not submerge the camera module in water. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth.

6.2 Battery and Solar Panel

The integrated solar panel provides a constant power source, extending the battery life. Under normal conditions, the 5200mAh battery can run for approximately 4 months on standby.

• Monitor the battery level through the "Bird Lover" app. The app provides accurate power statistics and low battery alerts.
