Setup Guide
1. Installing Switches
The ASHATA keyboard kit features hot-swappable sockets, allowing for easy installation and removal of mechanical switches without soldering. It supports both 3-pin and 5-pin switches.
- Align the pins of the mechanical switch with the corresponding holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight and not bent.
- Gently push the switch into the socket until it clicks into place. Apply even pressure.
- Repeat for all desired keys.

Important Note:
Before inserting a switch, carefully inspect its pins. If any pins are bent, gently straighten them with tweezers to prevent damage to the switch or the PCB socket. Insert switches vertically to avoid bending pins.
2. Installing Keycaps
Once all switches are installed, you can attach your preferred keycaps.
- Align the keycap stem with the cross-shaped stem on the mechanical switch.
- Press the keycap firmly onto the switch until it is securely seated.
- Use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps if needed, by hooking it onto the keycap and pulling upwards gently.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your keyboard.
- Cleaning Keycaps: Use the keycap puller to remove keycaps. Clean them with a mild soap solution and a soft cloth. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
- Cleaning the PCB/Case: Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between switches and from the PCB. A soft brush can also be used. Avoid liquid cleaners directly on the PCB.
- Switch Maintenance: If a switch feels inconsistent, it can be removed using a switch puller and inspected. Some switches can be lubricated for smoother operation, but this requires specialized tools and knowledge.
