Image 4.1: Exploded view diagram of the APLOS AP20 showing its main components: AL-6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum body, high transparent tempered glass lens, one-touch switch, and waterproof O-rings.

  • Head: Contains the LED emitter and tempered glass lens.
  • Body: Houses the battery and internal circuitry. Made from AL-6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with military regulations III hard anodized finish for abrasion and seawater corrosion resistance.
  • One-Touch Magnetic Switch: Located on the body for easy mode selection and power control.
  • Tail Cap: Secures the battery and provides a point for the wrist strap.
  • Waterproof O-rings: Two O-rings ensure a watertight seal for underwater operation.

5. Setup and Charging

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the tail cap of the dive light by turning it counter-clockwise.
  2. Insert the rechargeable battery with the positive (+) terminal facing towards the head of the flashlight.
  3. Carefully screw the tail cap back on clockwise until it is fully tightened. Ensure the O-rings are properly seated to maintain the waterproof seal.

5.2 Charging the Battery

  1. Remove the battery from the dive light.
  2. Place the battery into the provided USB charger, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Connect the USB charger to a power source using the supplied USB cable.

  5. Once fully charged, disconnect the charger and remove the battery.

6. Operation

6.1 Basic Use

  1. Turning On/Off: Rotate the magnetic switch to turn the light on or off.

6.2 Underwater Use

Before each dive, ensure the tail cap is securely tightened and the O-rings are clean and properly lubricated to maintain the IPX8 waterproof rating. The light is designed to operate reliably up to 100 meters (328 feet) underwater.

7. Maintenance

  • After Each Dive: Rinse the dive light thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand, and other debris.
  • O-ring Care: Periodically inspect the O-rings for any signs of damage, cracks, or wear. Clean them and apply a thin layer of silicone grease to maintain their elasticity and waterproof seal. Replace damaged O-rings immediately using the provided spares.
  • Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity every few months to prolong its lifespan.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the body of the flashlight with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the dive light in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
