Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Kenmore DS4030 Cordless Stick Vacuum:

2. Attach the Floor Nozzle: Insert the motorized floor nozzle onto the bottom end of the extension wand until it clicks securely.

Charging the Battery

The Kenmore DS4030 is powered by a rechargeable 21.6V Lithium-Ion battery. It features a wall-mounted base for convenient storage and charging.

1. Using the Wall Mount: Once the wall mount is installed, simply place the assembled vacuum onto the mount. The charging adapter can be connected to the wall mount, allowing the vacuum to charge while stored.
2. Using the Portable Adapter: Alternatively, you can detach the main vacuum unit and plug the portable charging adapter directly into the charging port on the battery.

The battery charges in less than 4 hours. The colorful LED battery status meter on the main unit will indicate the battery and charge level.

Operating Instructions

Your Kenmore DS4030 offers versatile cleaning options:

1. Power On/Off and Speed Control: Press the power button on the main unit to turn the vacuum on. Use the 2-speed settings (Low/ECO Mode and High/Max Mode) to adjust suction power based on your cleaning needs and surface type.
2. EasyReach Wand: For cleaning underneath furniture without bending, press the button on the EasyReach wand to flex it, allowing the nozzle to reach low areas.
3. LED Headlight: The integrated LED headlight illuminates the cleaning path, making dirt and debris visible even in dimly lit areas or under furniture.
4. Convert to Handheld Vacuum: To clean tight spaces, upholstery, or car interiors, detach the extension wand and floor nozzle from the main vacuum unit. Attach the Combo Crevice/Dusting Brush directly to the main unit for targeted cleaning.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your vacuum:

1. Emptying the Dust Cup: The extra-large transparent dust cup should be emptied regularly, especially when debris reaches the 'MAX' line. Press the release button to detach the dust cup from the main unit, then open the bottom flap to empty contents into a trash bin.
2. Cleaning/Replacing the HEPA Filter: The HEPA filter captures 99.97% of dust, pet dander, and pollen down to 0.3 microns. It is washable for convenience. Remove the filter from the dust cup and rinse it under running water. Allow it to air dry completely before reinserting. Replace the filter periodically for best performance.
3. Cleaning the Brush Roll: Periodically check the motorized floor nozzle's brush roll for tangled hair or debris. Turn off the vacuum and carefully remove any obstructions using scissors or a brush.
