Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the jack and all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage.
  2. Handle Assembly: Insert the two handle pieces together. Then, insert the assembled handle into the handle socket on the jack. Secure it according to the instructions provided in the packaging (if any specific fasteners are included).
  3. Bleeding the Hydraulic System (Initial Use):
    • Turn the release valve (handle) counter-clockwise one full turn to open it.
    • Pump the handle 10-15 full strokes to remove any air that may be trapped in the hydraulic system.
    • Turn the release valve clockwise to close it. The jack should now be ready for use.
  4. Check Hydraulic Fluid: Ensure the hydraulic fluid level is adequate. Refer to the maintenance section for details on checking and refilling.

Operating Instructions

Lifting a Vehicle:

  1. Prepare the Vehicle: Park the vehicle on a hard, level surface. Engage the parking brake and place the transmission in park (or first gear for manual). Block the wheels that will remain on the ground.
  2. Position the Jack: Locate the vehicle's manufacturer-recommended lifting points. Position the jack so the saddle is centered under the lifting point. Ensure the jack's wheels are free to move.
  3. Raise the Vehicle: Close the release valve by turning the handle clockwise until it is firmly closed. Pump the handle up and down to raise the vehicle to the desired height. Lift only high enough to place jack stands.
  4. Secure with Jack Stands: Once the vehicle is at the desired height, immediately place appropriately rated jack stands under the vehicle's frame or designated support points. Lower the vehicle slowly onto the jack stands by slowly turning the release valve counter-clockwise.
  5. Remove Jack: Once the vehicle is securely resting on jack stands, fully lower the jack and remove it from under the vehicle.

Lowering a Vehicle:

  1. Prepare for Lowering: Ensure the area around the vehicle is clear. If the vehicle was on jack stands, raise it slightly with the floor jack to remove the jack stands.
  2. Slowly Release Pressure: Slowly turn the release valve (handle) counter-clockwise. The vehicle will begin to descend. Control the rate of descent by adjusting how much you open the valve.
  3. Fully Lower: Continue to lower the vehicle until it is fully on the ground.
  4. Remove Jack: Once the vehicle is fully lowered, remove the jack from under the vehicle.

Maintenance

  • Lubrication: Periodically lubricate all moving parts, including the pivot points and casters, with light machine oil.
  • Hydraulic Fluid Check: With the jack fully lowered and on a level surface, remove the oil filler plug. The fluid level should be just below the filler hole. If low, add high-quality hydraulic jack oil. Do not use brake fluid or motor oil.
  • Cleaning: Keep the jack clean and free of dirt, grease, and debris. Wipe down the ram and pump piston after each use.
  • Storage: Store the jack in a clean, dry place with the ram fully retracted to prevent corrosion and extend seal life.
  • Inspection: Before each use, inspect the jack for any signs of damage, leaks, or worn parts. Do not use a damaged jack.
