Hobbyant EWRF 701U FPV Camera VTX Instruction Manual

Model: 701U

1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Hobbyant EWRF 701U 5.8GHz 48CH 25mW 600TVL F1.4mm 120-degree Wide Angle 3-in-1 AIO Video Transmitter FPV Camera VTX. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper operation and to maximize the lifespan of your device.

2. Safety Precautions

  • Always ensure adequate airflow around the module when installed in a drone to prevent overheating.
  • Overheat protection mechanisms are in place to reduce power or shut down the device in severe conditions.
  • Crucially, always attach the antenna before powering on the device. Operating without an antenna can permanently damage the video transmitter.
  • Ensure the operating voltage is within the specified range of 2.5V to 5.5V (nominal 5V).

3. Product Overview

The Hobbyant EWRF 701U is a compact 3-in-1 AIO (All-In-One) FPV camera, video transmitter (VTX), and antenna solution designed for FPV racing drones. It features a 600TVL camera with a 120-degree wide-angle lens, 25mW power output, and 48 channels across multiple bands.

4. Setup and Installation

  1. Mounting: Securely mount the EWRF 701U module in your drone, ensuring it is protected from physical impact.
  2. Airflow: Verify that there is sufficient space around the module for proper airflow to prevent overheating during operation.
  3. Antenna Connection: Before connecting power, firmly attach the copper tube antenna to the module.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power wires to a 5V power source (within the 2.5V-5.5V range) on your drone. Observe polarity (red for positive, black for negative).

5. Operating Instructions

The EWRF 701U is controlled via a single button and provides feedback through red and blue LED indicators.

5.1 Power-On Indication

Upon powering on, the red and blue LEDs will briefly blink to indicate the currently set channel and band. The blinking duration of each LED corresponds to the item and its value. After this initial sequence, both red and blue LEDs will remain on, indicating operational status.

5.2 Setting Channel, Band, and Image Flip

Use the single control button to navigate and select settings:

  1. Channel Selection:
    • Press and hold the button until the red LED blinks once. This enters Channel Selection mode.
    • Short press the button repeatedly to cycle through the 48 available channels. The blue LED's blinking duration will indicate the selected channel (e.g., 1 blink for channel 1, 8 blinks for channel 8).
  2. Band Selection:
    • Press and hold the button again until the red LED blinks twice. This enters Band Selection mode.
    • Short press the button repeatedly to cycle through the available bands. The blue LED's blinking duration will indicate the selected band (e.g., 1 blink for Band A, 2 blinks for Band B).
  3. Image Flip Selection:
    • Press and hold the button again until the red LED blinks three times. This enters Image Flip Selection mode.
    • Short press the button to toggle the vertical image flip setting (on/off).
  4. Saving Settings:
    • After making your selections, press and hold the button for an extended period (typically 3-5 seconds) until the LEDs confirm the settings are saved. The exact LED behavior for saving is not explicitly detailed but usually involves a solid light or a specific blink pattern.
