3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
The moofit HR8 sensor comes with a CR2032 battery pre-installed. To activate the sensor for first use, ensure the battery is correctly seated. If replacing the battery, follow these steps:
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the heart rate sensor.
- Use a coin or a similar flat tool to gently twist the battery cover counter-clockwise to open it.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.
- Align the battery cover and twist it clockwise to securely close it.

3.2 Wearing the Chest Strap
For accurate heart rate measurement, proper placement of the chest strap is essential.
- Moisten the electrode areas on the back of the chest strap with water or electrode gel. This improves conductivity and ensures accurate heart rate detection.
- Attach the heart rate sensor to the two snap fasteners on the elastic chest strap.
- Adjust the strap length to ensure a snug but comfortable fit around your chest, just below your pectoral muscles. The sensor should be centered on your sternum.
- Ensure the electrodes are in direct contact with your skin.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On and Off
The moofit HR8 sensor automatically powers on when it detects a heart rate signal (i.e., when worn correctly with moistened electrodes). It powers off automatically when removed from the chest strap or when no heart rate signal is detected for a period of time.
4.2 Pairing with Devices
The moofit HR8 supports both Bluetooth 5.0 and ANT+ connectivity, allowing it to pair with a wide range of fitness devices and applications simultaneously.
4.2.1 Bluetooth Pairing (Smartphones/Tablets)

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Chest Strap
To ensure hygiene and prolong the life of your chest strap:
- Detach the heart rate sensor from the elastic strap after each use.
- Rinse the elastic strap under running water. If necessary, use a mild soap.
- Do not machine wash or tumble dry the strap.
- Hang the strap to air dry.
5.2 Battery Replacement
Refer to section 3.1 for detailed instructions on replacing the CR2032 battery. Replace the battery when the device's performance degrades or when connected apps indicate low battery.
5.3 Storage
Store the heart rate sensor and strap in a clean, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
6. Troubleshooting
- No Heart Rate Reading / Intermittent Readings:
- Ensure the electrodes on the strap are moistened before wearing.
- Check that the strap is worn snugly and correctly positioned on your chest.
- Verify the battery is not depleted. Replace the CR2032 battery if necessary.
- Ensure there are no strong electromagnetic interference sources nearby.
- Difficulty Pairing with Device:
- Make sure the HR8 sensor is worn and active.
- Confirm Bluetooth or ANT+ is enabled on your receiving device.
- Move closer to your receiving device.
- Restart your receiving device and the fitness application.
- Check if the sensor is already paired with another device. The HR8 can connect to multiple devices simultaneously via Bluetooth and ANT+, but some devices might require exclusive pairing.
- Inaccurate Heart Rate Data:
- Ensure the electrodes are adequately moistened and the strap is positioned correctly.
- Avoid wearing the strap over clothing that might interfere with electrode contact.
- Certain medical conditions or medications can affect heart rate readings. Consult a healthcare professional if you have concerns.
