5. Operating Instructions

The DOMO DO9252I features an intuitive XL Smart-Touch display and four automatic programs for ease of use.

5.1. Preparing Ingredients

  • Ensure all ingredients are properly measured and mixed according to your recipe.
  • For best results, chill your ice cream or sorbet mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2-4 hours, or overnight, before adding it to the machine. This is not strictly necessary due to the integrated compressor, but it can improve freezing time and consistency.
  • Do not exceed the maximum fill line of the 1.5-liter bowl, as the mixture will expand during freezing.

5.2. Using the Smart-Touch Display

The display allows you to select programs and adjust settings:

  • Power Button: Turns the appliance on/off or puts it into standby mode.
  • Program Selection: Cycle through the four automatic programs:
    • Ice Cream: For traditional ice cream and gelato.
    • Cool: Cooling function without mixing, ideal for chilling ingredients or keeping desserts cold.
    • Mix: Mixing function without cooling, useful for combining ingredients or preparing yogurt.
    • Yogurt: Specific program for making homemade yogurt.
  • Time Adjustment (+/-): Adjust the operating time for manual mode or modify program durations.
  • Hardness Control: Allows you to select the desired hardness level for your frozen desserts.
  • Stirring Speed Adjustment: Modify the mixing paddle's rotation speed. Higher speeds create airier ice cream, while lower speeds result in a denser texture with fewer ice crystals.

5.3. Step-by-Step Operation

  1. Ensure the machine is assembled correctly and plugged in.
  2. Pour your prepared mixture into the stainless steel bowl.
  3. Secure the lid.
  4. Press the Power button to turn on the machine.
  5. Select your desired program (Ice Cream, Cool, Mix, or Yogurt) using the program selection button.
  6. Adjust the time, hardness, or stirring speed as desired using the respective controls.
  7. Press the Start/Pause button to begin the process. The machine will automatically churn and cool.
  8. Once the program is complete, the machine will automatically switch to a "keep-cool" mode to maintain the consistency of your dessert.
  9. Unplug the appliance and remove the lid. Carefully lift out the stainless steel bowl using its handle.
  10. Serve your freshly made ice cream or yogurt.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygienic operation of your appliance.

  • Before Cleaning: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Removable Parts: The stainless steel bowl, mixing paddle, and lid are removable and can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely with a soft cloth. These parts are generally not dishwasher safe unless specified by the manufacturer.
  • Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing the appliance. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
