3. Setup Guide

- Connect the Lightning cable from the iDiskk drive to your iPhone or iPad.
- Upon first connection, you will be prompted to download the "iDiskk Player" app from the App Store. Install the app to manage files and backups.
- For Android Devices:
- Connect the Type-C cable from the iDiskk drive to your Android smartphone or tablet.
- Ensure your device supports USB On-The-Go (OTG) functionality. You may need to enable OTG in your device settings.
- Download the "iDiskk Player" app from the Google Play Store for optimal functionality.
- For Computers (Mac/PC):
- Connect the USB-A or Type-C cable from the iDiskk drive to an available USB port on your computer.
- The drive will appear as an external storage device. No special drivers are typically required.

3.2 Charging the Device
The iDiskk external hard drive has a built-in battery. To charge, connect the USB-A or Type-C cable to a power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The indicator lights will show the charging status.

4.1 Using the iDiskk Player App (iOS/Android)
The iDiskk Player app is your primary interface for managing files on your mobile device. After installing the app and connecting the drive:
- One-Click Automatic Backup: Navigate to the backup section within the app. You can initiate a one-click backup of new photos, videos, music, and documents from your device to the iDiskk drive.
- Manual File Transfer: Browse files on your device or the iDiskk drive. Select files to copy, move, or delete between your device and the external drive.
- Direct Photo/Video Saving: Some devices and app versions may allow you to save photos and videos directly to the iDiskk drive while capturing them, bypassing internal device storage.
- File Encryption: The app may offer features for file encryption to protect sensitive data. Refer to the app's in-app help for details on this function.

4.2 Using with Computers (Mac/PC)
When connected to a computer, the iDiskk drive functions like any standard external hard drive. You can drag and drop files, create folders, and manage data using your computer's file explorer or Finder.

- Try connecting to a different USB port or device.
- Slow Data Transfer:
- Ensure you are using a USB 3.0 compatible port on your computer for maximum speed.
- Large file transfers naturally take longer.
- Close other applications that might be using system resources.
- "iPhone Storage Full" Message Persists:
- After backing up photos/videos to the iDiskk drive, you need to manually delete them from your iPhone's internal storage to free up space. The app may offer a prompt to do this after a successful backup.
- App Issues:
- Ensure your iDiskk Player app is updated to the latest version.
- Restart the app or your device.
- If issues persist, try reinstalling the app (note: this will not affect data on the iDiskk drive, but ensure any data on your phone is backed up elsewhere if you are concerned).
