Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Ensure the walkie talkie is powered off.
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
- Slide the cover down or unclip it to open.
- Insert the Lithium-Ion battery, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
- Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it.
2. Charging the Battery
The RT519 supports convenient USB Type-C charging.
- Connect the USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the side of the walkie talkie.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., smartphone charger, power bank, computer USB port, car charger).
- The LED indicator will turn red during charging. It will turn green when charging is complete.

3. Attaching the Belt Clip
The included metal belt clip allows for easy portability.
- Align the belt clip with the designated slots on the back of the walkie talkie.
- Slide the clip upwards until it clicks securely into place.
- To remove, press the release tab (if present) and slide the clip downwards.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment
- To power on, rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click.
- To adjust the volume, continue rotating the knob clockwise to increase volume or counter-clockwise to decrease.
- To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.
2. Channel Selection
- The RT519 has 99 pre-programmed PMR446 channels.
- Use the Channel Up (+) and Channel Down (-) buttons on the side of the unit to select your desired channel.
- Ensure all walkie talkies you wish to communicate with are set to the same channel.
3. Transmitting and Receiving
- To Transmit: Press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button on the side of the walkie talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone. The LED indicator will turn red. Release the PTT button when you finish speaking.
- To Receive: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The walkie talkie will automatically receive transmissions on the selected channel. The LED indicator will turn green when receiving a signal.
4. VOX Function (Hands-Free Operation)
The VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) function allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button, by simply speaking into the microphone.
- To activate VOX, press and hold the '+' or '-' button (refer to the specific manual for your device's button combination for VOX activation, as it may require programming).
- The RT519 offers 9 levels of VOX sensitivity. Higher sensitivity means the radio will transmit with softer voice input.
- Note: VOX functionality may require programming for full customization.
