- Carbon Monoxide (CO) Warning: This device detects carbon monoxide gas. CO is an odorless, colorless, and toxic gas that can be fatal.
- Placement: Install CO detectors in all sleeping areas and on every level of your home.
- Testing: Test the detector weekly to ensure proper operation.
- Alarm Response: If the alarm sounds, evacuate all occupants immediately and call emergency services. Do not re-enter the premises until it has been deemed safe by authorities.
- Wi-Fi Connectivity: This device connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks only. It is not compatible with 5.0 GHz networks. Multiple devices connect individually to the X-Sense Home Security App and do not communicate with each other directly.
2. Setup & Installation
2.1 Package Contents

2.2 Battery Installation
The XC04-WX is powered by a replaceable CR123A lithium metal battery, which provides a 10-year lifespan under normal operating conditions. The battery is pre-installed. Before first use, ensure the plastic tab protecting the battery is removed.

2.3 App Download and Device Pairing
- Download the "X-Sense Home Security" app from your smartphone's app store.
- Create an account or log in.
- Follow the in-app instructions to add your XC04-WX device. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone for initial pairing.
- Connect the device to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The device will not connect to 5.0 GHz networks.

2.4 Mounting Options
The XC04-WX offers flexible installation options:
- Wall-Mounted: Use the provided screws and anchor plugs to securely mount the detector on a wall. Refer to local regulations for optimal placement.
- Self-Standing: The detector can also be placed on a flat surface, such as a nightstand or shelf.

3. Operation
3.1 Real-Time Monitoring and Notifications
Once connected to the X-Sense Home Security App, the XC04-WX provides real-time monitoring of CO levels and sends instant push notifications to your smartphone for various events:
- CO Alarm: Alerts when dangerous CO levels are detected.
- Low Battery: Notifies you when the battery needs replacement.
- Malfunction: Indicates a device error.
- CO Alarm Precaution: Provides an early warning if CO levels exceed 100 ppm, allowing proactive action.

3.2 Device Sharing
The Device Sharing function within the X-Sense Home Security App allows you to add family members, enabling multiple users to monitor the home's safety status and receive notifications.

3.3 LCD Display and LED Indicators
The detector features an informative LCD display and three colored LED indicators:
- LCD Display: Shows the current CO concentration in parts per million (ppm) and the peak CO concentration since the last reset.
- Green LED: Indicates normal operation (Power).
- Yellow LED: Indicates a fault or low battery condition.
- Red LED: Indicates a CO alarm.

3.4 Test Button and Silence Function
Press the "TEST/∣∣" button to test the detector's functionality. During an alarm, this button can also be used to silence the alarm temporarily.

3.5 Optional Protect+ Premium Subscription
For enhanced safety, an optional Protect+ Premium subscription plan is available, offering 24/7 professional monitoring service. In the event of an alarm, the monitoring center will contact you within 3 seconds to verify the emergency. Upon verification, emergency services (e.g., fire department) will be dispatched immediately.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Replacement
The XC04-WX uses a CR123A lithium metal battery. When the low battery notification is received via the app or indicated by the yellow LED, replace the battery promptly. Refer to the device's compartment for specific instructions on battery access and replacement.
4.2 Regular Testing
It is recommended to test your CO detector weekly by pressing the "TEST/∣∣" button. This ensures the alarm and internal circuitry are functioning correctly.
4.3 Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the detector regularly with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents, as these may damage the device. Avoid spraying air fresheners or other aerosols near the detector.
