Setup and Installation

The Kimpex NOMAD Trunk is designed for easy installation on most ATV tubular racks. Follow these steps for secure mounting:

1. Prepare the Trunk: Remove any internal trays or accessories from the trunk to access the mounting points.
2. Position the Trunk: Carefully place the Kimpex NOMAD Trunk on your ATV's rear rack. Adjust its position to ensure it is centered and does not interfere with ATV operation or passenger comfort.
3. Mark Drilling Locations: Using a marking tool (e.g., grease pencil, marker, or a sharp object), mark the locations on the trunk's bottom where the U-bolts will pass around the ATV rack bars. Ensure marks avoid any internal ribs for optimal drilling.
4. Drill Holes: Remove the trunk from the ATV. Using a 5/16" drill bit, carefully drill holes at the marked locations. Ensure holes are clean and free of debris.
5. Install U-Bolts: Place the trunk back on the ATV rack, aligning the drilled holes with the rack bars. Insert the U-bolts through the drilled holes and around the rack bars.
6. Secure with Backing Plates and Nuts: From inside the trunk, place the backing plates over the U-bolt threads and secure them with the provided nuts. Tighten gradually and evenly between both posts of each U-bolt to prevent lopsided tightening.
7. Install Internal Components: Once the trunk is securely mounted, re-install any internal trays, the passenger seat cushion, and backrest.
8. Final Check: Verify all mounting hardware is tight and the trunk is stable. Ensure all lids open and close smoothly and latch securely.

Operating Instructions

• Opening Lids: Unlatch the secure latches on each compartment and lift the lids.
• Closing Lids: Lower the lids and press firmly until the latches engage with an audible click. Ensure all latches are fully secured.
