2. Product Overview
2.1. Components
The Gain Express FFW335 Wireless Sonar Fish Finder system consists of two main components: the handheld display unit and the wireless sonar sensor.

2.2. Handheld Display Unit
The handheld unit features a 2.4-inch color TFT LCD for clear data visualization and intuitive controls.

- LCD Screen: Displays sonar data and settings.
- Antenna: For wireless communication with the sonar sensor.
- Zoom Button: Adjusts the zoom level on the sonar display.
- Left Arrow Button: Navigates menu options or adjusts settings.

3. Setup
3.1. Charging the Devices
Before first use, fully charge both the handheld display unit and the wireless sonar sensor.
- Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging port on each device.
- Plug the USB cable into the wall adapter or car charger.
- The red LED on the sonar sensor will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged. The handheld unit will show a charging indicator on its screen.
- Charging typically takes several hours.
3.2. Powering On/Off
- Handheld Unit: Press and hold the Power / Menu button to turn the unit on or off.
- Sonar Sensor: The sensor automatically activates when placed in water and deactivates when removed. Ensure it is sufficiently charged. The blue LED indicates it is working.
3.3. Pairing the Devices
The handheld unit and sonar sensor should automatically pair when both are powered on and within range. If pairing issues occur, ensure both devices are charged and try restarting them.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Basic Operation
- Power on the handheld display unit.
- Attach the wireless sonar sensor to your fishing line using the designated hole.
- Cast or place the sonar sensor into the water. The blue LED on the sensor will indicate it is active.
- Observe the data displayed on the handheld unit's screen.

The device has a wireless operational range of up to 200 meters (656 feet) and a depth capability of 0.7 meters (2 feet) to 45 meters (147 feet).
4.2. Menu Navigation and Settings
Press the Power / Menu button to access the main menu. Use the Left Arrow and Right Arrow buttons to navigate through options and adjust values. Press the Power / Menu button again to confirm selections or exit menus.
- Sensitivity: Adjusts the sonar's ability to detect objects. Higher sensitivity detects smaller objects but may show more clutter.
- Brightness: Adjusts the screen backlight intensity.
- Chart Speed: Controls the speed at which the sonar history scrolls across the screen.
- Depth Alarm: Set an alarm to sound when the water depth falls below a specified value.
- Fish Alarm: Set an alarm to sound when fish are detected.
- Unit Settings: Change measurement units for depth and temperature (M/°C, M/°F, Ft/°C, Ft/°F).
- Depth Upper/Lower Limit: Define the depth range displayed on the screen.
4.3. Language Setting
The device supports 21 languages. To change the language:
- Access the main menu.
- Navigate to the "Language" option.
- Use the arrow buttons to select your desired language.

5. Maintenance
5.1. Charging
Regularly charge both the handheld unit and the sonar sensor to ensure optimal performance. Use only the provided charging accessories.
5.2. Cleaning
After each use, especially in saltwater, rinse the sonar sensor with fresh water and wipe both devices with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
5.3. Storage
Store the fish finder in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure both devices are fully charged before long-term storage to preserve battery life.
