1. Setup
1.1 Installing Batteries in the Cordless Handset
Step 1: Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the cordless handset.
Step 2: Slide the cover downwards to open it.
Step 3: Insert the two supplied AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
Step 4: Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks into place.
1.2 Connecting the Base Unit
Step 1: Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE port on the back of the corded base unit.
Step 2: Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your wall telephone jack.
Step 3: Connect the AC power adapter for the base unit to the POWER port on the back of the base unit.
Step 4: Plug the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
1.3 Connecting the Handset Charger Cradle
Step 1: Connect the AC power adapter for the charger cradle to the POWER port on the back of the charger cradle.
Step 2: Plug the AC power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
Step 3: Place the cordless handset into the charger cradle. The handset display should indicate "Charging" or a charging icon. Allow the handset to charge for at least 12-15 hours before initial use to ensure full battery capacity.
2. Operating Instructions
2.1 Basic Call Functions
- Making a Call:
- Pick up the cordless handset or press the TALK button.
- Dial the desired phone number.
- Press the TALK button again or place the handset back on the base/cradle to end the call.
- Answering a Call:
- When the phone rings, pick up the cordless handset or press the TALK button.
- To end the call, press the END button or place the handset back on the base/cradle.
- Adjusting Volume: During a call, press the UP or DOWN arrow buttons on the handset to adjust the earpiece volume.
2.2 Caller ID Display
When an incoming call is received, the caller's number and name (if available and stored in your phonebook) will be displayed on the handset screen. You can review past calls by pressing the CALL LOG button.
2.3 3-Way Call Conferencing
The Beetel X78 supports 3-way call conferencing, allowing you to speak with two other parties simultaneously.
- During an active call, press the FLASH or R button (depending on your service provider's settings). The first call will be put on hold.
- Dial the second party's number.
- Once the second party answers, press the CONF or 3-WAY button (refer to handset specific button if available) to join all three parties.
Note: This feature requires subscription to 3-way calling service from your telephone service provider.
2.4 Call Transfer from Corded to Cordless
You can seamlessly transfer an active call from the corded base unit to the cordless handset.
- While on a call using the corded base unit, pick up the cordless handset.
- Press the TRANSFER button on the corded base unit (or a similar function key).
- The call will be transferred to the cordless handset. You can then hang up the corded receiver.
2.5 2-Way Speaker Function
Both the corded base unit and the cordless handset feature a 2-way speakerphone function.
- On Corded Base Unit: During a call, press the SPEAKER button to activate the speakerphone. Press it again to switch back to the handset receiver.
- On Cordless Handset: During a call, press the SPEAKER button to activate the speakerphone. Press it again to switch back to the handset earpiece.
3. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the surfaces of the phone. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care:
- Always use the supplied rechargeable Ni-MH batteries.
- If the phone will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries from the handset.
- Do not expose batteries to extreme temperatures.
- Placement: Keep the phone away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and moisture. Avoid placing it near other electronic devices that may cause interference.
4. Troubleshooting
