1. Setup
1.1 Unboxing and Initial Setup
Upon opening the Keychron K8 Pro package, you will find the following components:
- 1x Fully Assembled Keyboard
- 1x USB-C to Type-A Cable
- Extra keycaps for Windows and Mac operating systems
- 1x Switch Puller
- 1x Keycap Puller
- 1x Screwdriver

1.2 Connectivity: Wireless (Bluetooth 5.1) and Wired (USB-C)
The Keychron K8 Pro offers versatile connectivity options, supporting both Bluetooth 5.1 wireless mode and USB-C wired mode. It can seamlessly connect to up to 3 devices simultaneously, including computers, laptops, tablets, and phones, allowing for easy switching between them.

1.3 Layout Switching (Mac & Windows)
The keyboard is designed with a Mac layout but includes extra keycaps for Windows operating systems, allowing users to switch between layouts as needed. This ensures compatibility and a familiar typing experience across different platforms.

2. Operating Instructions
2.1 QMK & VIA Programmability
The K8 Pro is equipped with QMK/VIA firmware, providing extensive customization options. Users can intuitively remap keys, create macros, and adjust backlight effects across macOS, Windows, and Linux operating systems for a fluid workflow. This open-source firmware offers endless possibilities for personalized keyboard layouts and shortcuts.

2.2 Keycap and Switch Swapping
The keyboard features hot-swappable sockets, allowing users to easily install or change switches without soldering. It is compatible with almost all MX style 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches on the market (e.g., Gateron, Cherry, Kailh).

The Keychron K8 Pro comes pre-installed with pre-lubed Gateron G Pro Brown switches, known for their tactile responsiveness. The keyboard also features OSA profile double-shot PBT keycaps, offering high durability and a pleasant typing feel.

2.3 Backlighting
The Keychron K8 Pro features white backlighting designed to illuminate the keycaps effectively from the typist's angle. Users can easily fine-tune the saturation, brightness, and effect speed of the backlighting to suit their preferences.
3. Maintenance
3.1 Cleaning Your Keyboard
To maintain optimal performance and appearance, regularly clean your Keychron K8 Pro. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe down the keycaps and frame. For deeper cleaning, you can remove keycaps using the provided keycap puller and clean underneath.
3.2 Keycap and Switch Replacement
Thanks to its hot-swappable design, replacing individual keycaps or switches is straightforward. Use the included keycap puller to gently remove keycaps and the switch puller to remove switches. Ensure new switches are aligned correctly before inserting them to avoid bending pins.
4. Troubleshooting
4.1 Connectivity Issues
- Bluetooth Connection Failure: Ensure the keyboard is in Bluetooth mode and discoverable. Remove previous pairings on your device and try re-pairing.
- Wired Connection Not Detected: Check the USB-C cable connection at both ends. Try a different USB port or cable.
4.2 Battery Life Concerns
The keyboard is equipped with a 4000 mAh rechargeable li-polymer battery. Under normal use (8 hours per day), it can last up to 7 days. With backlighting disabled, it can last up to 4 weeks. If battery life is significantly shorter, ensure backlighting is not constantly on high brightness or consider charging the keyboard fully.
