Adamson B10 Bed Cooling System - Instruction Manual

Model: Adamson B10

1. Introduction

The Adamson B10 Bed Cooling System is an innovative solution designed to enhance sleep comfort by providing a cool and regulated sleeping surface. Utilizing an evaporative cooling principle, this system circulates chilled water through a soft, 100% cotton mattress pad, effectively reducing the mattress temperature and dissipating body heat. It is ideal for individuals experiencing night sweats, hot flashes, or those who simply prefer a cooler sleep environment.

Ensure all parts are installed securely to prevent leaks.

  3. Position Cooler Unit:

Place the cooler unit on a stable, flat surface, such as a nightstand, at the same level or slightly higher than the bed. This ensures proper water flow and optimal performance.

The cooler unit should be placed at the same level or higher than the bed for good water flow.

  4. Fill with Water:

Open the water tank cap on the cooler unit and fill it with clean, distilled water up to the indicated MAX fill line. Do not overfill. Approximately 2.5 liters (0.66 gallons) of water are needed for initial fill. Regular tap water can be used, but distilled water is recommended to minimize mineral buildup.

The system circulates water to reduce mattress temperature by 7 to 12°F.

  5. Power Connection:

Connect the power cable to the cooler unit and then plug it into a standard electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

The Adamson B10 Bed Cooling System can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

  • Power On/Off:

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the system on or off. The unit will begin circulating water.

  • Adjust Fan Speed (Cooling Intensity):

Use the FAN SPEED button to cycle through four different fan speed settings (F1-F4). F1 is the fastest and provides the most cooling, while F4 is the slowest. Adjust according to your preferred cooling level.

  • Set Timer (Duration):

Press the DURATION button to set the operating time. Options typically range from continuous operation to specific hourly intervals (D1-D4). The system will automatically shut off after the set time.

  • Remote Control Usage:

Insert 2 AAA batteries into the remote control. Point the remote directly at the cooler unit's sensor to control power, fan speed, and duration from a distance. Note that the remote does not have a backlight or screen to display current settings.

Experiment with different fan speed and timer settings during the first few nights to find the optimal comfort level for your individual needs. The cooling effect is most noticeable when direct contact is made with the mattress pad.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Adamson B10 Bed Cooling System.

  • Daily Water Level Check:

Check the water level in the cooler unit daily. Due to evaporative cooling, water will be consumed during operation. Refill with clean water as needed to maintain efficient cooling.

  • Bi-Weekly Cleaning (Tank & Pad):

Every two weeks, it is recommended to empty the water tank completely and allow the mattress pad to dry out. This helps prevent the buildup of odors and mold, ensuring a hygienic sleeping environment.

Empty the tank and dry out the mattress every 2 weeks for optimal performance.

  • Deep Cleaning (Cooler Unit):

Approximately once a month, or more frequently if using hard water, perform a deep clean of the cooler unit. Unplug the unit and detach it from the mattress pad. Take the unit to a sink or bathtub. Use a solution of water and a small amount of vinegar (e.g., 1 cup vinegar per tank) with a soft brush to clean any mineral deposits or residue inside the tank and on accessible internal components. Rinse thoroughly with clean water before reassembling.

  • Mattress Pad Care:

The cotton mattress pad is labeled for Dry Clean Only. Do not machine wash the pad to avoid damage to the internal tubing.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No cooling or weak cooling.Low water level; kinked tubes; unit not positioned correctly; low fan speed.Check and refill water tank. Ensure tubes are not kinked or blocked. Place unit at the same level or higher than the bed. Increase fan speed setting.
Water leakage.Loose tube connections; improperly sealed drain plug; overfilling the tank.Ensure all tube connections are firmly secured. Check that the drain plug is properly inserted and sealed. Do not fill water above the MAX line.
Remote control not working.Dead batteries; remote not pointed correctly; obstruction.Replace AAA batteries. Point the remote directly at the unit's sensor. Ensure no obstructions between remote and unit. Consider using the unit's control panel directly.
Unit is noisy.Normal pump/fan operation; unstable surface. Some operational noise is normal. Ensure the unit is on a stable, flat surface. Try a lower fan speed setting if noise is disruptive.
Frequent water refills needed.Normal evaporation, especially in dry environments. This is expected. Check water level daily and refill as necessary.
