2. Setup

2.1 Powering the Main Unit

The main unit can be powered by the included AC adapter for continuous display and projection. For battery backup during power outages, install 2 AAA batteries (not included). When operating solely on batteries, the screen will not stay lit and projection will shut off to conserve power.

2.2 Wireless Outdoor Sensor Installation

  1. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment of the wireless sensor and insert 2 AA batteries (not included). Select a channel (1, 2, or 3) using the switch inside the compartment.
  2. Placement: Place the sensor in a ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and rain. Ensure it is within 200 feet (60 meters) of the main unit. Avoid placing it near large metallic items, thick walls, metal surfaces, or other electronics (e.g., TV, microwave) that may interfere with wireless communication. For optimal accuracy, place the sensor vertically, 1.2 to 2.4 meters above the ground, in permanent shade.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Time and Date Setting

The clock displays time in 12/24 hour format, date, and weekday. Refer to the user manual for specific button presses to set the time and date. The clock does not automatically set time via satellite and requires manual adjustment, including for daylight saving time.

3.2 Projection Function

The projection feature displays time and temperature (indoor or outdoor) in a soft red color on a wall or ceiling. The projected temperature automatically alternates between indoor and outdoor readings. You can rotate the projection 180 degrees using the "Rotate" button. Two projection brightness options are available. Use the focus knob on the projector to adjust the clarity of the projected image.

3.3 Dual Alarms with Snooze

Set two separate alarms for different purposes, with options for M-F, S-S, or M-F and S-S repetition. The alarm will automatically turn off after 2 minutes if not snoozed. The snooze function allows for 5 to 60 minutes of additional sleep time, or it can be turned off entirely.

3.4 Indoor/Outdoor Temperature and Humidity Display

The clock displays indoor and outdoor temperature (°C/°F) and humidity percentages. It also provides heat index, dew point, and mold risk indicators. Press the Max/Min button to view historical maximum and minimum values for temperature and humidity.

4. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Geevon Projection Alarm Clock, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and sensor with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, which may damage the surfaces.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the main unit (for backup) and the outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. For the outdoor sensor, consider using lithium batteries in low-temperature conditions as alkaline batteries may not perform optimally.
  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage and damage.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Geevon Projection Alarm Clock, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Outdoor Sensor Not Connecting (Displaying "- -"):
    1. Bring both the outdoor sensor and the main display unit indoors and place them side-by-side.
    2. Reload the batteries in both the main unit and the remote sensor. Ensure the channel chosen on the display unit matches the channel option chosen on the outdoor sensor.
    3. Allow at least 1 hour for the units to re-establish connection and obtain accurate data.
    4. If the display still shows "- -", press and hold the "+/CH" button on the main unit for 3 seconds to manually re-register the current channel's RF data.
    5. Ensure both units are placed at least 3 feet (1 meter) away from electronics that may interfere with wireless communication (e.g., TV, microwave, computer, radio).
  • Inaccurate Temperature/Humidity Readings: Ensure the outdoor sensor is placed in a location that is not exposed to direct sunlight, heat sources, or vents, as these can affect readings.
  • Projection Unclear: Adjust the focus knob on the projection lens to sharpen the image. Ensure the projection surface is within the optimal range (typically 118-196 inches / 3-5 meters).
  • Alarm Beeping at -4°F (or similar low temperature): Some units may have a non-disableable temperature alarm feature that triggers at extremely low outdoor temperatures. This is a design characteristic and cannot be changed by the user.
