- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and gloves during installation.
- Ensure the work area is well-lit and clear of obstructions.
- Doors are heavy. Use proper lifting techniques or seek assistance to prevent injury.
- Verify all measurements and clearances before cutting or permanent installation.
- Keep children and pets away from the installation area.
- Use only the provided hardware or manufacturer-approved replacements.
3. Package Contents
The SARTODOORS Quadro 4522 Double Swing Interior French Doors package includes the following components:
- 2 Pre-finished Door Slabs
- L-shape Trims (3 inches width)
- Door Frame (suitable for wall thickness up to 5 1/2 inches)
- Non-mortise Hinges
- Passage Modern Levers (Satin Nickel finish)
Note: The door is not pre-drilled for hardware and not pre-attached to the frame. Assembly of frames and trims is required.
4. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your double swing French doors.
4.1 Rough Opening Calculation
The minimal rough opening required for installation can be calculated as follows:
- Rough Opening Width: Door width + 2 inches
- Rough Opening Height: Door height + 1.25 inches
For a 72x96 inch door, the minimal rough opening would be approximately 74 inches wide by 97.25 inches high.

Figure 2: Door dimensions and recommended rough opening.
4.2 Frame Assembly
The door frame components (jambs and header) must be assembled before installation into the rough opening.

Figure 3: Frame components (left) and initial assembly (right).
- Identify the vertical jambs (a) and the horizontal header (b).
- Connect the header (b) to the top of the two jambs (a) to form a U-shaped frame. Ensure connections are secure.
- Use appropriate fasteners (not explicitly listed but implied by installation images) to secure the frame components.
4.3 Door Hanging and Hardware Installation
Once the frame is assembled and installed into the rough opening, proceed with hanging the door slabs and installing hardware.

Figure 4: Attaching door slab to the frame.
- Position the assembled frame within the rough opening, ensuring it is plumb and level. Secure it using shims and fasteners (not provided, but standard for door installation).
- Attach the non-mortise hinges to the door slabs and the frame. Non-mortise hinges do not require routing out a recess in the door or frame.
- Carefully lift and attach each door slab to the installed hinges on the frame.
- Install the passage modern levers. The door is not pre-drilled for hardware, allowing for flexibility in handle placement. A cut for the handle can typically be made within 5 minutes using appropriate tools.
- Install the L-shape trims around the frame to finish the installation.

4.4 Door Trimming (Optional)
The door slabs can be trimmed if necessary to fit specific opening requirements. Each door slab can be trimmed by up to 0.75 inches (3/4") from the top, bottom, left side, and right side.
- Maximum Trim per edge: 0.75 inches (3/4")
- Use appropriate woodworking tools for precise and clean cuts.
- Ensure cuts are straight and level to maintain door integrity and appearance.
5. Operation
The SARTODOORS Quadro 4522 features a double swing design, allowing both door slabs to open inwards or outwards depending on installation. The passage levers provide easy access without locking functionality.
- To open the door, depress the lever handle and push or pull the door slab.
- To close the door, gently push the door slab until it meets the frame.
- The door works with all swing directions, offering flexibility in use.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and appearance of your SARTODOORS French doors.
- Cleaning the Door Slabs: Use a soft, damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the eco-veneer finish.
- Cleaning the Glass Panels: Use standard glass cleaner and a lint-free cloth. Spray cleaner onto the cloth, not directly onto the glass, to prevent drips onto the door finish.
- Hardware: Periodically check hinges and handles for tightness. Tighten screws as needed. Lubricate hinges if they begin to squeak.
- Sealing Gum: Inspect the sealing gum (if installed) for any damage or wear. This helps protect against dust and contributes to sound attenuation and heat retention.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive moisture or extreme temperature fluctuations, which can affect wood and MDF products.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Door does not close properly or rubs against the frame. | Frame is not plumb or level; hinges are loose or misaligned; door slab is warped. | Check frame for plumb and level, adjust shims as necessary. Tighten hinge screws. If door is warped, contact manufacturer. |
| Handles are loose or difficult to operate. | Mounting screws are loose; internal mechanism is obstructed or damaged. | Tighten all visible screws on the handle assembly. Inspect for obstructions. If damaged, consider replacement. |
| Hinges squeak. | Lack of lubrication; dust or debris. | Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the hinge pins. Clean any visible debris. |
| Glass panels appear loose. | Retaining beads or sealant are compromised. | Inspect the glass retaining system. If necessary, re-secure retaining beads or reapply sealant. |
