5.1 Software Updates

The Autel AutoLink AL329 offers lifetime free software updates. To update the scan tool software, connect the device to a Mac-based or Windows-based computer. This ensures compatibility with the newest vehicle models and provides timely bug fixes.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the OBDII connector is securely plugged into the vehicle's DLC. Verify the vehicle's ignition is in the 'ON' position.
  • Linking Error: If the scanner fails to link to the vehicle, ensure the ignition is on and the connection is secure. Try connecting to a different OBD2-compliant vehicle to rule out a device issue.
  • No Codes Found: If no codes are found but a check engine light is present, the issue might be intermittent or related to a system not covered by generic OBD2 protocols. Perform an I/M Readiness check for more insights.
  • Codes Reappear After Erasing: If codes reappear shortly after being erased, the underlying vehicle fault has not been resolved. Address the root cause of the problem.
