2. Setup Guide
2.1 Unpacking and Initial Placement

4.1 Replacing Ink Cartridges

- Open the printer cover. The print head will move to the replacement position.
- Press the tab on the empty cartridge and lift it out.
- Unpack a new genuine Epson ink cartridge and shake it gently a few times.
- Insert the new cartridge into the correct slot until it clicks into place.
- Close the printer cover. The printer will prepare the new ink cartridge for use.
4.2 Cleaning the Print Head
If print quality declines (e.g., missing lines, banding), perform a print head cleaning.
- On your computer, open the Epson printer utility software.
- Navigate to the Maintenance or Utility tab.
- Select Head Cleaning and follow the on-screen instructions.
- After cleaning, print a nozzle check pattern to verify print quality. Repeat cleaning if necessary.
4.3 Cleaning the Scanner Glass
If scanned images have streaks or smudges, clean the scanner glass.

- Wipe the scanner glass and the white document mat underneath the lid with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a mild glass cleaner. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the glass.

5.1 Printer Not Responding
- Ensure the printer is powered on and the power cord is securely connected.
- Check the USB or Wi-Fi connection. For Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the correct network.
- Restart both the printer and your computer.
- Check the print queue on your computer for any stalled print jobs. Clear them if necessary.
