3. Setup
Follow these steps to prepare your Sinocare Safe AQ Smart system for use:
- Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the meter and insert the two AAA batteries provided, ensuring correct polarity.
- Prepare the Lancing Device:
- Unscrew the lancing device cap.
- Insert a new sterile lancet firmly into the lancet holder.
- Twist off the protective cap of the lancet and save it for safe disposal.
- Replace the lancing device cap.
- Adjust the puncture depth by rotating the cap. Settings 1-2 are for soft/thin skin, 3 for average skin, and 4-5 for thick/calloused skin.
- Pull back the cocking barrel until it clicks, indicating it is ready to use.
- Insert a Test Strip: Remove one test strip from the vial and immediately close the vial cap tightly. Insert the test strip into the meter's test strip port. The meter will turn on automatically and display a blood drop symbol, indicating it is ready for a blood sample.

4. Operating Instructions (Taking a Blood Glucose Test)
Perform the following steps to measure your blood glucose level:
- Wash and Dry Hands: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, then dry them completely. This helps prevent infection and ensures an accurate reading.
- Prepare Finger: Use an alcohol swab to clean the fingertip you intend to prick. Allow the alcohol to air dry completely before proceeding.
- Obtain Blood Sample: Press the lancing device firmly against the prepared fingertip and press the release button. A small drop of blood will form.
- Apply Blood Sample: Gently touch the tip of the test strip to the blood drop. The strip will automatically draw the blood into the reaction area. Do not smear the blood.
- Read Result: The meter will display your blood glucose result in 5 seconds.
- Dispose of Used Materials: Eject the used lancet from the lancing device into a sharps container. Eject the used test strip from the meter into a waste bin.
