Introduction
The HTZSAFE Driveway Alarm System provides a reliable and convenient way to monitor your property. This wireless system utilizes solar-powered motion sensors to detect movement and alert you via an indoor receiver. Designed for outdoor use, the sensors are weatherproof and offer a long detection range, making them ideal for driveways, yards, garages, and other outdoor areas. The system is expandable, allowing for additional sensors and receivers to cover larger properties.

Product Overview
Solar Motion Sensor (Outdoor Unit)
The solar motion sensor is designed for outdoor installation and detects movement using passive infrared (PIR) technology. It is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery that is continuously charged by the integrated solar panel.
- Solar Panel: Charges the internal battery.
- Sensor Eye: Detects heat movements from people, vehicles, or large animals.
- Mounting Bracket: Allows for flexible installation on various surfaces.
- On/Off Switch: Located on the back of the unit.
- Charging Jack: For initial charging or if solar charging is insufficient.

Figure 2: The solar motion sensor is designed to be dustproof and waterproof (IP65 rated) for all-weather performance.
Plug-in Receiver (Indoor Unit)
The receiver is the indoor unit that alerts you when motion is detected by the sensors. It plugs into a standard electrical outlet and features adjustable volume levels and multiple chime options. It also has a built-in backup battery to ensure continuous operation during power outages.
- Speaker: Emits audible alerts.
- Volume Control: Adjusts the alert volume (5 levels).
- Melody Selection: Choose from 35 different chimes.
- Indicator Lights: Show which sensor has been triggered (up to 4 zones).
- Power Plug: For connecting to an AC outlet.

Setup and Installation
The HTZSAFE Driveway Alarm System is designed for quick and easy installation. Follow these steps to set up your system:
Step 1: Charge the Receiver
Before first use, fully charge the receiver using the provided USB charging cable. Plug the receiver into a standard wall outlet. The indicator lights will show charging status.
Step 2: Power On Sensors
Locate the On/Off switch on the back of each solar motion sensor and switch it to the "ON" position. The sensors are pre-charged by solar power, but ensure they are exposed to sunlight for optimal performance.
Step 3: Install Sensors
Choose strategic locations for your sensors. Consider areas like driveways, entry points, or pathways. The sensors have a detection range of 25 to 70 feet (adjustable sensitivity) and a wireless transmission range of up to 1/2 mile (in ideal conditions).
- Ensure the solar panel faces an area that receives direct sunlight for most of the day.
- Position the sensor eye to cover the desired detection area. For vehicles, aim the sensor eye towards the engine or exhaust pipe for optimal detection.

Step 4: Pair Sensors with Receiver (if necessary)
Your system typically comes pre-paired. If you add new sensors or need to re-pair, refer to the detailed pairing instructions in the full PDF manual (link available on product page).

Operating the System
Adjusting Volume and Chimes
The receiver allows you to customize the alert sound and volume:
- Use the volume buttons on the side of the receiver to cycle through 5 adjustable volume levels.
- Press the melody button to cycle through 35 optional melodies. You can assign different melodies to different sensors to distinguish the location of the detected motion (e.g., "Driveway" for the front sensor, "Dog Barks" for the backyard sensor).

Mute Mode
For quiet hours, the receiver can be set to mute mode. In this mode, only the LED indicator lights will flash when motion is detected, providing a visual alert without sound.

Figure 7: Mute mode provides silent visual alerts.
Expandable System
The HTZSAFE system is fully expandable. You can add up to 4 motion sensors to a single receiver and connect one sensor to unlimited receivers. This allows for complete coverage of large properties and customized alert zones.

Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your HTZSAFE Driveway Alarm System, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Sensor Placement: Periodically check that solar panels on the sensors are clean and free from debris (leaves, dirt, snow) to ensure efficient charging.
- Battery Life: While solar-powered, extreme weather or prolonged periods without sunlight may reduce battery efficiency. If a sensor frequently loses connection, ensure it receives adequate sunlight or use the charging jack for a temporary boost.
- Cleaning: Wipe down sensors and receiver with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Environmental Factors: Ensure sensors are not obstructed by growing vegetation or new structures that could block the sensor's line of sight or solar panel.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No alert from receiver when motion is detected. | Sensor battery low; sensor out of range; sensor not paired; receiver off or in mute mode. | Ensure sensor is fully charged (expose to sunlight); move sensor closer to receiver; re-pair sensor and receiver; check receiver power and volume settings. |
| False alarms. | Sensor picking up small animals, swaying branches, or direct sunlight. | Adjust sensor sensitivity (Low=25ft, Medium=50ft, High=70ft); reposition sensor to avoid unwanted triggers; clear obstructions. |
| Short wireless range. | Obstructions (thick walls, metal structures); interference from other wireless devices. | Relocate receiver or sensor to minimize obstructions; ensure no strong interference sources nearby. |
| Receiver not holding charge. | Aging internal battery; faulty charging cable/outlet. | Ensure receiver is plugged in continuously if battery life is a concern; try a different outlet or charging cable. |
