5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Nicewell Travel Kettle.
- General Cleaning: After each use, unplug the kettle and allow it to cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Clean the interior with warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
- Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits (scale) may build up inside the kettle, especially in areas with hard water. To remove scale, boil the kettle with a solution of citric acid or white vinegar. Follow the instructions on your descaling product or use a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar to water. After descaling, rinse the kettle several times with fresh water to remove any residue.
6. Troubleshooting
- Kettle not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the kettle and a functioning electrical outlet. Verify that the outlet is providing power.
- Kettle not heating: Check if the desired temperature is selected and the power button is activated. Ensure there is sufficient water above the MIN line.
- Temperature button unresponsive: If the button is pressed too hard, it may not register. Use a light touch to select settings.
- Water not boiling to desired temperature: Ensure the lid is properly closed (but not sealed tightly during boiling) and the correct temperature preset is selected.
- Leakage: Ensure the lid is securely twisted on when not boiling. Do not hold the kettle upside down, especially when hot.
