Important Safety Instructions

Setup

1. Unpack and Clean: Remove all packaging materials. Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter holder in warm, soapy water. Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a damp cloth.
2. Position the Coffee Maker: Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable surface away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is enough space around the unit for proper ventilation and access to the water tank.
3. Initial Cleaning Cycle: Before first use, run two full brewing cycles with only water to clean the internal components. Fill the water tank to the MAX level, place the empty carafe on the warming plate, and start a brew cycle without coffee. Discard the water after each cycle.
4. Add Water: Fill the removable water tank with fresh, cold water up to the desired cup marking. Ensure the tank is securely placed back into the unit.
5. Add Coffee:
   • For Whole Beans: Open the bean hopper lid and pour whole coffee beans into the hopper. Close the lid and ensure it is locked. Adjust the grinding level using the knob on top of the hopper.
   • For Pre-Ground Coffee: Place the permanent filter into the filter holder. Add the desired amount of pre-ground coffee into the permanent filter. Do not overfill.

6. Place Carafe: Ensure the glass carafe is correctly positioned on the warming plate.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee

1. Ensure the coffee maker is set up as described in the "Setup" section.
2. Select Brew Size: On the touchscreen, adjust the brew size from 4 to 10 cups according to your needs.
3. Choose Brew Style: Select your desired brew style: CLASSIC, INTENSE, RICH, or ICE. Each setting adjusts the brewing parameters for optimal flavor.
4. Start Brewing: Press the Start/Stop button to begin the brewing process. If using whole beans, the grinder will activate first, followed by brewing.
5. Enjoy: Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will beep. The keep warm function will automatically activate.

• Delay Brew (24-hour Programmable Timer):
  Set the coffee maker to automatically start brewing at a specific time. Press the 'DELAY BREW' button and use the touchscreen to set the desired start time. Confirm your selection. The machine will brew at the programmed time.

• Keep Warm Feature:
  The coffee maker automatically keeps coffee warm for up to 4 hours after brewing. You can customize this duration between 60 and 240 minutes via the touchscreen settings.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

Daily Cleaning

• Carafe and Filter: After each use, discard coffee grounds. Wash the glass carafe, permanent filter, and filter holder in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are also dishwasher safe (top rack only).
• Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

Descaling

Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.

1. Fill the water tank with a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio).
2. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
3. Start a brew cycle. After about 1 minute, turn off the coffee maker and let it soak for 20 minutes.
4. Turn the coffee maker back on and let the brewing cycle complete.
5. Discard the vinegar solution.
6. Run 2-3 cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
