Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Preparation

  1. Remove all protective materials and tape from the printer.
  2. Place the printer on a flat, stable surface.

2. Filling the Ink Tanks

The EcoTank ET-3830 uses a cartridge-free ink system. Follow these steps to fill the ink tanks:

  1. Open the ink tank unit cover on the right side of the printer.
  2. Open the cap for the black ink tank.
  3. Uncap the black ink bottle and insert it into the filling port. The ink will automatically fill the tank. Do not squeeze the bottle.

  5. Repeat the process for the Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow ink tanks, ensuring each color is filled into its corresponding tank.
  6. Close the ink tank unit cover.

Regularly check the ink levels through the transparent ink tanks on the front of the printer or via the printer's display/software. Refill tanks when levels are low using genuine Epson 502 ink bottles.

2. Print Head Cleaning

If print quality declines (e.g., missing lines, streaking), perform a print head cleaning. This can be initiated from the printer's control panel under the 'Maintenance' menu or through the printer software on your computer.

3. Print Head Alignment

If printouts appear blurry or misaligned, perform a print head alignment. This option is also available in the 'Maintenance' menu on the printer's control panel.

4. Cleaning the Scanner Glass

To ensure clear scans and copies, periodically clean the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with a mild glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials.
