Setup
1. Initial Inspection
Upon receiving your vault, carefully inspect the packaging and the vault itself for any signs of damage. Ensure all included components are present: the vault, a security cable, and this owner's manual.
2. Setting the Combination
Your vault comes with a re-settable 3-digit dial combination lock. Follow these steps to set your personal combination:
- Ensure the vault is open. The factory default combination is typically 0-0-0.
- Locate the reset button or lever inside the vault, usually near the locking mechanism.
- While the vault is open, push the reset button/lever to the "SET" position (or as indicated by an arrow).
- Set your desired 3-digit combination by rotating the dials. Choose a memorable but secure combination.
- Return the reset button/lever to its original position.
- Test your new combination with the vault open first to ensure it works correctly before closing.
Important: Do not forget your combination. There is no master key or override for the combination lock once set. Write it down and store it in a secure, separate location.

3. Securing the Vault with the Security Cable
The included security cable provides an additional layer of defense against theft. To use it:
- Locate the cable attachment point on the vault.
- Thread the loop end of the security cable through the attachment point.
- Secure the other end of the cable around a fixed, immovable object (e.g., a car seat frame, a desk leg, or a bed frame).
- Ensure the cable is taut and the vault cannot be easily removed.

Operating the Vault
1. Opening the Vault
To open the vault, rotate the dials to your set 3-digit combination. Once the correct combination is entered, the latch mechanism will release, allowing you to lift the lid.
2. Closing the Vault
To close the vault, ensure no items are obstructing the closing mechanism. Lower the lid firmly until it latches shut. Scramble the dials to a random combination to secure the vault.

3. Transporting the Vault (TSA & CA DOJ Approved)
This vault is designed for portable security and is both TSA Approved for firearm travel and CA DOJ Approved. This means it meets specific requirements for transporting firearms and valuables, particularly when traveling by air or within California.
- TSA Approved: When traveling with firearms by air, ensure the firearm is unloaded and declared to the airline. The vault must be locked and placed in checked baggage. Always check current TSA regulations before travel.
- CA DOJ Approved: This approval signifies the vault meets California's safety standards for firearm storage devices.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
To clean the exterior of your vault, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish. For the interior, a dry cloth can be used to wipe away dust or debris. The interior foam padding can be gently wiped if needed.

2. Storage
Store the vault in a dry environment to prevent moisture buildup. While the vault is portable, consider securing it with the included cable when not actively being transported to deter unauthorized removal.

Troubleshooting
- Vault will not open with combination:
- Ensure you are entering the correct 3-digit combination.
- Verify that each dial is precisely aligned with the indicator mark.
- If recently reset, ensure the reset mechanism was fully returned to its original position after setting the new combination.
- Lid does not close smoothly:
- Check for any obstructions inside the vault, particularly near the hinge or locking mechanism.
- Ensure the interior foam padding is correctly seated and not interfering with the closure.
