Connecting Devices

Wi-Fi Connection:

  1. On your device (smartphone, tablet, laptop), search for available Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Select the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) of your HUAWEI B311-221 router.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi password.

Managing Router Settings

You can manage advanced settings such as network preferences, security protocols (WPA2-PSK, WPA3), parental controls, and device management through the web interface or the HUAWEI AI Life app. Regularly check for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.

Maintenance

Firmware Updates

Periodically check for and install firmware updates through the router's web interface or the HUAWEI AI Life app. Firmware updates provide performance improvements, new features, and security patches.

Resetting the Device

If you encounter persistent issues or forget your login credentials, you can reset the router to its factory default settings. To do this, use a thin object (like a paperclip) to press and hold the Reset button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the indicators flash. Warning: Resetting the device will erase all custom configurations.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the router and the wall outlet. Check if the power outlet is functional.
  • No Internet Connection:
    • Check if the SIM card is correctly inserted and activated with a data plan.
    • Verify the Network Mode and Signal Strength indicators. If signal is weak or absent, try repositioning the router or using external antennas.
    • Log in to the web interface or app to check network status and APN settings.
    • Restart the router.
  • Wi-Fi Not Working:
    • Ensure the Wi-Fi indicator is on.
    • Check your device's Wi-Fi settings and ensure you are connecting to the correct SSID with the correct password.
    • Try restarting the router and your Wi-Fi device.
  • Slow Internet Speed:
    • Check the signal strength indicator; a stronger signal generally means better speed.
    • Ensure no other devices are consuming excessive bandwidth.
    • Try moving the router to a location with better cellular reception.
    • Update router firmware.
  • Cannot Access Web Interface:
    • Ensure your device is connected to the router's network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
    • Verify the router's IP address and your login credentials.
    • Try a different web browser.
    • If all else fails, perform a factory reset (see Maintenance section).
