2. Safety Information

4. Installation

5. Operation

To operate the gas cooktop, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare Cookware: Place appropriate cookware on the grate over the desired burner.
  2. Ignite Burner: Push down and turn the control knob for the desired burner counter-clockwise to the 'HI' position. The ion ignition system will automatically spark, igniting the gas.
  3. Adjust Flame: Once the burner is lit, continue to hold the knob down for a few seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up and engage the safety valve. Then, release the knob and adjust the flame size by turning the knob between 'HI' and 'LO' settings.
  4. Turn Off Burner: To turn off a burner, turn the control knob clockwise to the 'OFF' position.

Always ensure the flame is stable and blue. A yellow or flickering flame may indicate improper gas-air mixture, requiring adjustment by a qualified technician.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Empava cooktop.

Daily Cleaning:

  • Wipe down the stainless steel surface with a soft cloth and mild detergent after each use. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can scratch the surface.
  • The sealed burners prevent food from falling inside, simplifying cleanup.

Deep Cleaning:

  • Cast Iron Grates: The laser-cut full-width cast iron grates are dishwasher-safe. For stubborn stains, soak them in warm, soapy water before scrubbing.
  • Burner Caps and Bases: Remove burner caps and bases when cool. Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft brush. Ensure they are completely dry before reassembling.
  • Control Knobs: Pull off the control knobs and wash them with warm, soapy water. Dry thoroughly before replacing.

Always ensure the cooktop is cool before cleaning any components.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your cooktop, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
