3. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Wash the inner pot, detachable inner lid, rice spatula, and measuring cup with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth.
  3. Assemble: Place the clean inner pot into the main unit. Ensure the detachable inner lid is properly installed in the main lid.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet (120V AC). The display will illuminate.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Rice Cooking (White Rice)

  1. Measure Rice: Use the provided measuring cup to measure the desired amount of rice. One cup of uncooked rice yields approximately two cups of cooked rice. The CRP-ST1009FG has a 10-cup uncooked capacity (20-cup cooked).
  2. Wash Rice: Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
  3. Add Water: Place the washed rice into the inner pot. Add water up to the corresponding line marked inside the inner pot for 'WHITE RICE'. For example, for 4 cups of white rice, fill water to the '4' line under 'WHITE RICE'.
  4. Select Pressure Mode: Rotate the pressure dial on the top of the cooker to either 'HIGH PRESSURE' for sticky, flavorful rice or 'NON PRESSURE' for light, fluffy, separate grains.
  5. Close Lid: Close the lid securely until it locks.
  6. Select Menu: Use the 'MENU/SELECT' buttons to navigate to 'WHITE RICE' on the display.
  7. Start Cooking: Press the 'START' button. The cooker will begin the cooking process, and the voice guide will confirm the selection.

4.2 Advanced Cooking Modes

  • 16 Versatile Modes: The cooker offers 16 menu options including GABA rice, mixed rice, veggie rice, baby food, high-pressure steam, and more. Select your desired mode using the 'MENU/SELECT' buttons.
  • Turbo Mode: For faster cooking of white rice, select the 'SPR. TURBO' option under high pressure. This mode can cook white rice in approximately 15 minutes.
  • Open Cooking Mode: This mode allows you to add ingredients or adjust seasoning during the cooking process for non-pressure dishes. Select 'NON P. COOK OPEN COOKING' from the menu.
  • Voice Guide: The cooker provides voice prompts for various operations, including mode selection, cooking start, and completion. The voice guide supports multiple languages.

5. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your rice cooker.

5.1 Cleaning the Inner Pot

  • The nonstick inner pot should be hand washed with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can damage the nonstick coating.
  • Ensure the pot is completely dry before placing it back into the main unit.

5.2 Cleaning the Detachable Inner Lid

  • The inner lid is detachable for easy cleaning. Gently pull it down and out from the main lid.
  • Wash with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  • Reattach by aligning it correctly and pushing it back into place until it clicks.

5.3 Cleaning the Drain Dish

  • The drain dish collects excess water and condensation. Remove it from the back of the cooker.
  • Empty any collected water and wash the dish with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  • Reinsert the drain dish firmly into its slot.

5.4 Steam Sterilization (Auto Clean)

  • The cooker features a self-cleaning function using steam to sanitize the interior.
  • Refer to the display for the 'AUTO CLEAN' option and follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the cycle.
