Kemot 2600

Kemot Prosinus-2600 Pure Sine Wave Inverter Emergency Power Supply

Model: 2600

Introduction

The Kemot Prosinus-2600 Emergency Power Supply is a pure sine wave inverter designed to provide reliable backup power for various devices during power outages. It features a charging function for external batteries and offers three distinct operating modes: Emergency Power Supply, Charging, and Inverter. This system ensures the continuous operation of critical equipment and protects against power fluctuations, including overloads, short circuits, and voltage irregularities.

This device is suitable for applications requiring a stable power supply, such as home appliances, camping equipment, and vehicle use. It is particularly effective with phase-sensitive devices like certain gas furnaces, maintaining a fixed phase regardless of the power source (mains or battery).

Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the Kemot Prosinus-2600. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Read the Manual: Always read the entire instruction manual before installation and operation.

Setup

Follow these steps for initial setup of your Kemot Prosinus-2600.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the unit from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
  2. Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Ensure sufficient clearance for airflow around the cooling fan.
  3. Battery Connection:
    • Ensure the unit is OFF before connecting the battery.
    • Connect the positive (+) terminal of your external 24V battery to the red (+) terminal on the unit.
    • Connect the negative (-) terminal of your external 24V battery to the black (-) terminal on the unit.
    • Secure all connections tightly to prevent arcing.
  4. AC Input Connection: Plug the unit's AC input cable into a standard 230V AC wall outlet.
  5. Connecting Loads: Plug your appliances (loads) into the 230V AC output sockets on the unit. Ensure the total power consumption of connected devices does not exceed 1800 Watts.

Operating Modes

The Kemot Prosinus-2600 offers three primary operating modes:

  • Emergency Power Supply Mode (UPS Function):

In this mode, the unit acts as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS). When connected to both AC mains and an external battery, it continuously monitors the incoming AC power. If the main power fails, the unit automatically switches to battery power, converting 24V DC from the battery to 230V AC to power connected devices. When AC mains power is restored, the unit switches back to mains power and begins recharging the external battery.

  • Charging Mode:

When the unit is connected to AC mains and an external battery, it will automatically charge the battery. The charger current indicators (10A/15A) will show the charging status. This mode ensures your battery is always ready for a power outage.

  • Inverter Mode:

If the unit is only connected to an external 24V battery (without AC mains input), it functions purely as an inverter. It converts the 24V DC power from the battery into 230V AC power to supply connected appliances. This mode is ideal for off-grid applications, camping, or vehicle use where mains power is unavailable.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Kemot Prosinus-2600.

  • Cleaning: Keep the unit clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents. Ensure ventilation openings are clear of obstructions.
  • Battery Inspection: Periodically check battery terminals for corrosion. Clean any corrosion with a wire brush and baking soda solution. Ensure battery connections remain tight.
  • Battery Health: For optimal battery life, avoid deep discharges. If the unit is stored for extended periods, ensure the battery is fully charged and recharge it every 3-6 months.
  • Storage: If storing the unit, disconnect it from both AC mains and the battery. Store in a cool, dry place.
