3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of your HOCANFLO Macerator Pump. Follow these steps carefully:
3.1. Inlet Pipe Installation (Sink/Shower)
- Locate the two water inlets at the bottom of the pump unit. These are typically used for connecting a shower room and a sink.
- Remove the cover from the desired inlet to reveal the check valve inside. This valve prevents sewage from flowing back into the pump.
- Fix the hose to the inlet at the bottom of the product.
- Cut off any excess hose with scissors and install a PVC inlet pipe with a 40mm diameter.
- Ensure the inlet pipe maintains a 3% inclination to prevent sewage from remaining in the pipe. Repeat for the other bottom inlet if connecting another fixture.

3.2. Exhaust Hole Preparation
- Open the lid of the top exhaust hole.
- Insert the activated carbon (included) into the hole.
- Close the lid firmly to secure the activated carbon.

3.3. Outlet Pipe Installation
- The outlet pipe is a combination of an elbow and a check valve.
- Fix the elbow at the water outlet position on top of the pump with a clamp and fix it firmly.
- The elbow supports three sizes of pipes: 28mm, 32mm, or 40mm. It is recommended to use a 32mm PVC pipe.
- Cut off any excess pipe with scissors, then insert the 32mm PVC hard pipe with a clamp and fix it.
- If discharging horizontally, the horizontal sewage section must be less than 30cm to avoid affecting the height of the vertical lift.
- Alternatively, if the toilet is installed just below the main sewage pipe, remove the black check valve under the elbow and fix it at the water outlet position. The check valve prevents sewage from returning.
3.4. Toilet Connection
- The front water inlet is specifically for connecting to the toilet.
- If the toilet is not connected, the water inlet can be blocked to only drain sewage from the shower room and sink.
- To connect the toilet, first connect the rubber hose and fix it with a clamp.
- Put the rubber ring into the toilet drain and fix it with a clamp.
- If installing the macerating pump on the other side of a wall, an extension pipe is required (purchased separately). Insert the extension pipe into the water outlet of the toilet and push it in firmly to ensure it cannot be pulled out.

4. Operating Instructions
The HOCANFLO 500W Macerator Pump operates automatically when water enters the unit. It is designed for efficient and quiet operation.
- Automatic Operation: The pump will activate automatically when the water level inside reaches a certain point, macerating and pumping the waste water away.
- Manual Override: A manual switch is provided for testing or specific operational needs. Use this switch with caution and only when necessary.
- Quiet Operation: The 500W motor is designed for low noise levels during operation.
- Multiple Connections: The pump can handle waste from a toilet, sink, shower room, urinal/bidet, and washing machine. Ensure all unused inlets are properly sealed with the provided caps.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient performance of your macerator pump.
- Activated Carbon Replacement: The activated carbon in the exhaust hole helps with deodorization. Replace it periodically as needed to maintain effectiveness.
- Cleaning: Avoid flushing foreign objects (e.g., sanitary products, wet wipes, large food scraps) that can clog the blades or pump. Regular flushing with clean water can help prevent buildup.
- Check for Leaks: Periodically inspect all connections for any signs of leaks. Tighten clamps if necessary.
- Professional Inspection: For complex issues or annual checks, consider consulting a qualified plumber.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your HOCANFLO Macerator Pump, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump not activating | No power; Clogged inlet/outlet; Float switch stuck. | Check power supply; Clear any blockages; Gently free the float switch. |
| Pump running continuously | Float switch stuck; Leak in system; Check valve issue. | Free the float switch; Inspect for leaks; Check check valve for debris. |
| Unusual noise/vibration | Foreign object in macerator; Worn bearings. | Disconnect power and inspect for foreign objects (professional assistance recommended); Contact support for bearing issues. |
| Foul odors | Activated carbon needs replacement; Insufficient water flow; Trap issues. | Replace activated carbon; Ensure adequate water flow; Check P-traps for proper sealing. |
