Setup Instructions
1. Unpacking and Assembly
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts are present before beginning assembly. The unit is designed for straightforward, tool-free assembly.
- Handlebar Assembly: Attach the upper handlebar section to the lower section, ensuring the quick-release clamps or knobs are securely tightened. Adjust the handlebar height to a comfortable working position.
- Collection Bag Attachment: Securely attach the 40-liter collection bag to the designated hooks or slots at the rear of the sweeper. Ensure it is properly seated to prevent debris from escaping.
2. Power Connection
The GARLAND® Roll & Comb 502E operates on a 110V power supply. Connect the power cord to a suitable outdoor-rated extension cord, ensuring the connection is secure and protected from moisture. Then, plug the extension cord into a grounded 110V power outlet.

Operating Instructions
1. Pre-Operation Checks
- Ensure the collection bag is empty and properly attached.
- Check that the power cord is securely connected and routed to avoid entanglement with the sweeper's moving parts.
- Inspect the nylon bristles for any damage or excessive wear.
2. Adjusting Working Height
The sweeper features working height regulation to control the intensity of the sweep and combing action. Locate the height adjustment lever or knob, typically near the wheels or front of the unit. Adjust the height according to the density of debris and the desired combing effect on your artificial grass. A lower setting will provide a more aggressive sweep and deeper combing.
3. Starting and Sweeping
- To start the sweeper, press and hold the safety button, then squeeze the operating lever on the handlebar. Release the safety button once the motor starts.
- Push the sweeper forward in straight, overlapping lines across the artificial grass. The machine is designed for forward motion only. Avoid pulling the unit backward, as this can strain the motor and reduce efficiency.
- Allow the brushing system to collect debris and comb the fibers. The 40 cm working width ensures efficient coverage.
- Periodically check the collection bag and empty it when full to maintain optimal performance.

Maintenance

- Emptying the Collection Bag: After each use, or when full, remove and empty the 40-liter collection bag. Clean any residual debris from the bag and its attachment area.
- Cleaning the Brushing System: Disconnect the power supply before cleaning. Regularly inspect and clean the nylon bristles, removing any tangled grass, leaves, or other debris. This prevents blockages and maintains effective combing.
- General Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the sweeper in a dry, protected area. The foldable handle allows for compact storage. Ensure the power cord is neatly wrapped and secured.
