1. Overview

The MEDTECH BP12 is a fully automatic portable digital blood pressure monitor designed for accurate and convenient home use. It incorporates Smart MDD Technology for precise measurements and features a large display for easy readability. This device is clinically validated and comes with an adjustable cuff suitable for arm sizes from 22-42cm.

Regular monitoring of blood pressure can provide valuable health insights. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure correct operation and accurate readings.

4. Setup

4.1 Powering the Device

The MEDTECH BP12 can be powered using either AA batteries or the included USB Type-C cable.

  1. Using Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the monitor. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the compartment securely.
  2. Using USB-C: Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the USB-C port on the side of the monitor and plug the other end into a compatible power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer, power bank).

4.2 Connecting the Arm Cuff

Insert the air tube connector from the arm cuff firmly into the air jack on the side of the blood pressure monitor unit.

4.3 Removing Screen Protector

For optimal display clarity, gently peel off and remove the screen protector film from the monitor's display before first use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Before Measurement

5.2 Applying the Arm Cuff

  1. Slide your arm through the cuff loop. The bottom edge of the cuff should be approximately 2-3 cm (about two fingers' width) above your elbow joint.
  2. Ensure the air tube is positioned on the inside of your arm, aligned with your middle finger.
  3. Wrap the cuff snugly around your upper arm, securing it with the Velcro closure. It should be tight enough that you can barely insert two fingers between the cuff and your arm.

5.3 Taking a Measurement

  1. Once the cuff is correctly applied and you are in a relaxed position, press the START/STOP button.
  2. The cuff will automatically inflate. Remain still and silent during the measurement.
  3. After inflation, the cuff will slowly deflate, and your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
  4. The measurement will automatically be stored in the device's memory.
  5. To turn off the device, press the START/STOP button again, or it will automatically shut off after a period of inactivity.

5.4 Using Memory Function

The device can store up to 90 readings for two users. To access stored readings:

  1. Press the MEM button to view the most recent reading.
  2. Press the MEM button repeatedly to scroll through older readings.
  3. To switch between User 1 and User 2 memory, press the SET button while in memory mode.
