Initial Setup
Winding the Watch
Your Lorus RL411BX9 watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement and does not require a battery. To start the watch or if it has stopped due to lack of motion:
- Gently shake the watch from side to side for approximately 30 seconds to initiate the movement. This will build up a small power reserve.
- Wear the watch regularly. Normal daily activities will keep the mainspring wound.
Note: This model does not feature a manual winding function via the crown.
Setting the Time and Date
- Pull the crown out to the second click position (farthest out). The second hand will stop.
- Turn the crown to set the hour and minute hands. To ensure the AM/PM is correctly set for the date change, advance the hands past 12 o'clock. If the date changes, you are in the AM period.
- Push the crown back in to the first click position.
- Turn the crown to set the date and day. Avoid setting the date and day between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can damage the movement. If the current time falls within this period, first adjust the time outside this range (e.g., to 6 AM), then set the date/day, and finally reset the time to the correct current time.
- Push the crown fully back into the normal position to start the watch.
Operation
Automatic Movement
The Lorus RL411BX9 is powered by the natural motion of your wrist. When worn, an oscillating weight (rotor) inside the watch rotates, winding the mainspring. A fully wound watch typically has a power reserve of approximately 40 hours, meaning it can continue to operate for this duration even when not worn. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it will stop. Simply shake it gently to restart.
Water Resistance (10 Bar / 100 Meters)
This watch is designed with a water resistance of 10 bar (100 meters). This rating indicates it is suitable for everyday use, including resistance to splashes, rain, and showering. It is not recommended for swimming, diving, or prolonged submersion in water. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water to maintain its water resistance.

Care and Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the watch case and crystal, wipe gently with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For the textile strap, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can be used for cleaning, followed by thorough rinsing with clean water and air drying. Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish or strap.
Strap Care
The textile strap is durable but can show wear over time. To prolong its life, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or harsh chemicals. If the strap becomes excessively dirty or worn, consider replacing it with an authorized Lorus strap.

General Care
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (below 0°C or above 60°C).
- Keep the watch away from strong magnetic fields, which can affect timekeeping accuracy.
- Protect the watch from severe shocks or impacts.
- If the watch requires service or repair, always contact an authorized Lorus service center to ensure proper handling and genuine parts.
Troubleshooting
Watch Has Stopped
As an automatic watch, it will stop if not worn for an extended period (typically more than 40 hours). Gently shake the watch for 30 seconds to restart it. If it still does not start, ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If the issue persists, the watch may require professional inspection.
Date/Day Not Changing Correctly
Ensure the time is set correctly, especially the AM/PM cycle. If the date/day is set during the restricted hours (9 PM - 3 AM), it might not change correctly. Reset the time outside this window, then adjust the date/day, and finally reset the time to the current time. If the problem continues, seek professional assistance.
Inaccurate Timekeeping
Automatic watches can have slight variations in accuracy. If the watch is consistently running too fast or too slow beyond acceptable limits (e.g., more than +/- 30 seconds per day), it may require adjustment or regulation by a professional watchmaker.
