Setup Instructions

1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Placement: Place the soldering station on a stable, heat-resistant, and non-flammable surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
3. Connect Soldering Iron: Insert the soldering iron's connector securely into the corresponding port on the soldering station.
4. Prepare Stand: If the iron stand is separate, assemble it according to its instructions and place it securely next to the station. Ensure the cleaning sponge is moistened (if applicable) or brass wool is in place.
5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord of the soldering station into a standard 110V AC electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Powering On and Temperature Setting

1. Power On: Flip the power switch located on the soldering station to the "ON" position. The LED digital display will illuminate.
2. Temperature Adjustment: Use the temperature adjustment knob to set the desired temperature. The temperature can be adjusted from 176°F (80°C) to 896°F (480°C). The current temperature will be shown on the LED display.
3. Temperature Unit Selection: Press the °C/°F button to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units.
4. Heating: The station will rapidly heat the soldering iron to the set temperature using its PID temperature control system. The display will show the current temperature as it rises.

Temperature Lock Function

To prevent accidental temperature changes during operation, the ST-2090D features a temperature lock function:

• Once the desired temperature is set, press the "LOCK" button. The display will indicate that the temperature is locked (e.g., a lock icon or specific indicator).
• While locked, adjusting the temperature knob will not change the set temperature.
• To unlock, press the "LOCK" button again.

Auto Standby / Sleep Function

This feature conserves energy and extends the life of the soldering iron tip:

• Auto Standby: After 10 minutes of inactivity (no active use detected), the soldering station will automatically enter auto standby mode. The heater will maintain a temperature of 392°F (200°C), and the display will show "STB".
• Auto Sleep: If there is no activity for an additional 20 minutes while in auto standby mode, the soldering station will enter auto sleep mode. The display will show "SLP", and the heating core will cease heating.
• Resuming Operation: To exit auto standby or auto sleep mode and return to normal operation, simply adjust the temperature knob or press any button. The station will quickly heat back to the previously set temperature.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your soldering station.

• Tip Cleaning: Regularly clean the soldering iron tip using the provided brass wool or a damp sponge. This removes excess solder and oxidation, ensuring efficient heat transfer.
• Tip Tinning: Always tin the soldering iron tip with a small amount of fresh solder before storing it and after cleaning. This prevents oxidation and prolongs tip life.
• Station Cleaning: Ensure the unit is powered off and cooled down before cleaning. Wipe the station's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Tip Replacement: Replace the soldering iron tip when it becomes excessively worn or corroded and can no longer be properly tinned. Ensure the station is cool before attempting to replace the tip.
• Storage: Store the soldering station in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.
