2. Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety warnings and operating instructions before using this device. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Grounding: Always ensure the power supply is properly grounded using a three-prong power cord. Do not defeat the grounding plug.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not block ventilation openings. The internal fan requires clear airflow to prevent overheating.
  • Environment: Use the power supply in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Avoid operating in environments with flammable gases or vapors.
  • Output Connections: Connect output leads only after the power supply is turned off and the desired voltage/current limits are set. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Load Compatibility: Do not exceed the maximum voltage or current ratings of the power supply or the connected load.
  • Test Leads: The included test leads are for basic use. For long-term use of high current, prepare test leads with sufficient current capacity.
  • Internal Components: Do not open the casing of the power supply. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Emergency Shutdown: In case of abnormal operation, smoke, or unusual odors, immediately disconnect the power supply from the main power outlet.

  4. Initial Check: Before connecting any load, turn the power switch (14) to the ON position. The LED display should illuminate, showing default voltage and current readings.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Setting Voltage and Current

The Jesverty SPS-12003 allows for precise adjustment of both voltage and current limits.

  • Adjusting Voltage: Use the V-COARSE (6) knob for large voltage changes and the V-FINE (8) knob for precise adjustments. Turn clockwise to increase, counter-clockwise to decrease.
  • Adjusting Current: Use the A-COARSE (7) knob for large current changes and the A-FINE (9) knob for precise adjustments. Turn clockwise to increase, counter-clockwise to decrease.
  • Setting Limits Before Connecting Load: It is recommended to set the desired voltage and current limits before connecting your device. Turn the current knob fully clockwise to set the maximum current limit. Adjust the voltage to your desired level. Then, connect your load. If you need to limit the current, slowly turn the current knob counter-clockwise until the desired current limit is reached. The C.C. indicator will light up when the current limit is active.

5.2. Constant Voltage (C.V.) and Constant Current (C.C.) Modes

The power supply automatically switches between C.V. and C.C. modes depending on the load conditions.

  • Constant Voltage (C.V.) Mode: When the load resistance is high, the output voltage remains constant at the set value, and the output current varies according to the load. The C.V. indicator (4) will be lit.
  • Constant Current (C.C.) Mode: When the load resistance is low, the output current remains constant at the set value, and the output voltage varies according to the load. The C.C. indicator (5) will be lit. This mode protects the connected device from excessive current.
