2.1 Package Contents

Verify that all components are present in the package:

• Dell P3223QE Monitor
• Monitor Stand (Base and Riser)
• Power Cable
• USB-C to USB-C Cable
• DisplayPort Cable
• USB-A to USB-B Cable (Upstream)
• Documentation (Quick Setup Guide, Safety Information)

2.2 Assembling the Stand

1. Place the monitor base on a flat, stable surface.
2. Align the riser with the slot on the base and press down until it clicks into place.
3. Tighten the captive screw at the bottom of the base to secure the riser.

2.3 Attaching the Monitor

1. Carefully remove the monitor from its packaging, keeping the screen protected.
2. Align the VESA mounting holes on the back of the monitor with the mounting plate on the assembled stand riser.
3. Gently push the monitor onto the stand until it locks into place.

2.4 Connecting Cables

Connect the necessary cables to the monitor and your computer. The Dell P3223QE offers various connectivity options:

• Power Cable: Connect one end to the monitor's power port and the other to a power outlet.
• Video Cables: Connect either a DisplayPort, HDMI, or USB-C cable from your computer to the corresponding input on the monitor. For 4K resolution at 60Hz, DisplayPort or USB-C is recommended.
• USB Upstream Cable: Connect the USB-A to USB-B cable from your computer's USB port to the monitor's USB upstream port to enable the monitor's built-in USB hub. If using USB-C for video, this cable may not be necessary as USB data can be transmitted over USB-C.
• Ethernet Cable: If using the monitor's integrated Ethernet port, connect an Ethernet cable from your network router/modem to the monitor's RJ45 port.

3.1 Powering On/Off

To power on the monitor, press the power button located on the back of the monitor, typically on the right side when viewed from the front. Press it again to power off. The power LED indicator will illuminate when the monitor is on.

3.2 Adjusting the Monitor

The Dell P3223QE monitor offers ergonomic adjustments for optimal viewing comfort:

• Height Adjustment: Gently push or pull the monitor up or down along the stand riser to adjust its height.
• Tilt Adjustment: Hold the top and bottom edges of the monitor and gently tilt the screen forward or backward.
• Swivel Adjustment: Rotate the monitor left or right on its base.
• Pivot Adjustment: Rotate the monitor 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise to switch between landscape and portrait orientation. Ensure sufficient clearance before pivoting.

3.3 Using the On-Screen Display (OSD) Menu

The OSD menu allows you to configure various monitor settings. Access the OSD menu by pressing the joystick control button on the back of the monitor. Navigate through the menu options using the joystick (up, down, left, right) and press to select.

Common OSD settings include:

• Brightness/Contrast: Adjust image luminance.
• Input Source: Manually select the video input (DisplayPort, HDMI, USB-C).
• Color Settings: Adjust color temperature, gamma, and preset modes.
• Display Settings: Adjust aspect ratio, sharpness, and response time.
• Menu Settings: Configure OSD language, transparency, and timeout.

3.4 Connectivity Features

The P3223QE monitor functions as a USB-C hub, providing convenient connectivity for peripherals and network access:

• USB-C Port: Provides video, data, and power delivery (up to 90W) to compatible laptops with a single cable.
• USB Downstream Ports: Connect USB devices such as keyboards, mice, external hard drives, or webcams. The monitor features multiple USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
• RJ45 Ethernet Port: Allows for a wired network connection through the monitor, providing stable internet access to a connected laptop via USB-C.

5.1 No Power

• Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the monitor and a working power outlet.
• Check if the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.
• Verify the monitor's power button is pressed.

5.2 No Signal / Blank Screen

• Confirm that the video cable (DisplayPort, HDMI, or USB-C) is securely connected to both the monitor and your computer.
• Ensure the correct input source is selected in the monitor's OSD menu. Use the joystick to navigate to the Input Source menu and select the active input.
• Check your computer's display settings to ensure it is configured to output to the external monitor.
• Try a different video cable or port on both the monitor and computer to rule out faulty connections.

5.3 Image Quality Issues (Blurry, Distorted, Incorrect Colors)

• Ensure the monitor's native resolution (3840x2160) is selected in your computer's display settings.
• Adjust brightness, contrast, and color settings via the OSD menu.
• If using an analog connection (not applicable for this monitor's primary inputs but generally), ensure the auto-adjust function is run.
• For potential backlight bleeding, which can appear as uneven light on a dark screen, this is often a characteristic of the panel and may not be user-correctable. If severe, contact Dell support.

5.4 USB Ports Not Functioning

• Ensure the USB upstream cable (USB-A to USB-B) is connected from your computer to the monitor, or that your USB-C connection is providing data.
• Verify that the monitor is powered on.
• Try connecting the USB device to a different USB port on the monitor.
