Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers from your rice cooker.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the removable inner pot, measuring cup, spatula, and ladle with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
  3. Placement: Place the rice cooker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from walls or other appliances to allow for proper ventilation. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the rice cooker and then plug it into a standard electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage matches the appliance's requirements (220 Volts).
  5. Lid Operation: Familiarize yourself with opening and closing the lid. The lid should close securely to ensure proper cooking.

Operating Instructions

General Operation

  1. Add Ingredients: Place the desired amount of rice, grains, or soup ingredients into the removable inner pot. Use the provided measuring cup for accurate rice/grain to water ratios.
  2. Place Inner Pot: Carefully place the inner pot into the main unit, ensuring it sits correctly.
  3. Close Lid: Close the lid securely until it clicks into place.
  4. Select Function: Press the "Menu" button to cycle through the available presets: White Rice, Brown Rice, Quinoa, Steel Cut Oats, and Soup. The selected function will illuminate on the display.
  5. Start Cooking: Press the "Start" button to begin the cooking cycle. The display will show the remaining cooking time or a countdown.
  6. Keep Warm: Once cooking is complete, the cooker will automatically switch to "Keep Warm" mode. This function maintains the food at an optimal serving temperature. Press "Keep Warm/Stop" to exit this mode.

Specific Cooking Modes

The GreenPan Rice Cooker features 5 easy-to-use presets:

  • White Rice: Optimized for fluffy white rice.
  • Brown Rice: Designed for thorough cooking of brown rice.
  • Quinoa: Perfect for cooking quinoa to the right consistency.
  • Steel Cut Oats: Ideal for creamy steel cut oats.
  • Soup: Allows for crafting delicate soups.

For best results, always refer to the specific ingredient packaging for recommended water ratios. The Smart Grain feature uses fuzzy logic technology to automatically adjust and optimize cooking for various rice types.

Delay Timer Function

The Delay Timer allows you to set a specific time for your cooking cycle to begin.

  1. Add ingredients and select your desired cooking function.
  2. Press the "Delay Timer" button.
  3. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the delay time.
  4. Press "Start" to confirm the delay timer. The cooker will begin cooking after the set delay period.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your GreenPan Rice Cooker.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Inner Pot: The removable inner pot features a healthy ceramic nonstick coating. It is dishwasher safe for convenience, or can be hand washed with warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid using metal utensils or abrasive cleaners that could damage the nonstick surface.
  3. Lid: Wipe the inside of the lid with a damp cloth after each use to remove any food residue. The lid is not removable for washing.
  4. Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  5. Accessories: The measuring cup, spatula, and ladle are dishwasher safe.
  6. Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing the rice cooker in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting
