4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the pump's performance and longevity. Ensure the pump is placed on a stable, level surface.
- Positioning: Place the pump as close as possible to the water source to minimize suction lift. Ensure adequate space for ventilation.
- Suction Line Connection: Connect a suitable suction hose (not included) to the pump's inlet. Ensure the suction line is airtight to prevent air ingress, which can cause the pump to lose prime. For non-clear water sources, an inline filter (not included) is recommended.
- Discharge Line Connection: Connect the discharge hose (not included) to the pump's outlet. The pump supports connection of 2 or 4 sprinklers depending on the type.
- Priming the Pump: Before first use, or if the pump has run dry, the pump must be primed. Fill the pump casing with water through the designated filling port until it overflows. This ensures the pump can create the necessary vacuum for suction.
- Electrical Connection: Plug the pump into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the power supply matches the pump's requirements (230V).

5. Operating Instructions
Once installed and primed, the pump is ready for operation.
- Starting the Pump: After priming and connecting to power, switch the pump ON. The pump will start automatically and build pressure.
- Automatic Operation: The integrated pressure switch will automatically turn the pump ON when water is drawn (e.g., a tap is opened or sprinkler system activates) and OFF when water flow stops and pressure builds up.
- Monitoring: Observe the pressure gauge to ensure the pump is operating within expected pressure ranges.
- Stopping the Pump: To stop the pump, simply close all water outlets. The pump will shut off automatically. For extended periods of non-use, disconnect the pump from the power supply.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the pump with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Filter Check: If using an external filter, regularly check and clean it to prevent clogging and maintain efficient water flow.
- Winterization: Before the first frost, completely drain the pump of all water to prevent damage from freezing. Store the pump in a dry, frost-free location.
- Hose Connections: Inspect all hose connections regularly for leaks and ensure they are securely fastened.
7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your pump.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power supply; Thermal overload; Pressure switch issue. | Check power connection and circuit breaker; Allow pump to cool down; Check pressure switch reset button. |
| Pump runs but no water flows. | Pump not primed; Air leak in suction line; Suction line blocked; Water source empty. | Prime the pump; Check all suction connections for airtight seal; Clear any blockages; Ensure water source is sufficient. |
| Pump cycles on and off frequently. | Small leak in system; Pressure switch setting too sensitive. | Check for leaks in pipes/fittings; Adjust pressure switch sensitivity (refer to Figure 3.4). |
| Pump is excessively noisy. | Air in pump/suction line; Cavitation; Loose mounting. | Re-prime the pump; Ensure adequate water supply; Securely mount the pump. |
