Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your amplifier. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified professional.

Mounting

Wiring Connections

Before making any connections, disconnect the vehicle's negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

  1. Power Connection (B+): Connect a heavy-gauge power cable (minimum 8 AWG recommended) directly from the positive terminal of the vehicle's battery to the amplifier's B+ terminal. Install an appropriate fuse holder (not supplied) within 18 inches of the battery.
  2. Ground Connection (GND): Connect a heavy-gauge ground cable (minimum 8 AWG recommended) from the amplifier's GND terminal to a clean, unpainted metal surface of the vehicle's chassis. Ensure a solid, low-resistance connection.
  3. Remote Turn-On (REM): Connect a remote turn-on wire from your head unit's remote output to the amplifier's REM terminal. This wire signals the amplifier to turn on when the head unit is active.
  4. RCA Input Connections: Connect RCA cables from your head unit's pre-amp outputs to the amplifier's RCA input jacks. Ensure correct channel matching (Front L/R, Rear L/R).
  5. Speaker Output Connections: Connect your speakers to the amplifier's speaker output terminals. The NA-1600X4D is a 4-channel amplifier, allowing connection of up to four speakers. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -) for each speaker. The amplifier supports a minimum load of 2 Ohms per channel.
  6. Fuse Installation: The amplifier is equipped with two 30A blade fuses. Ensure these are properly seated in their respective slots before powering on the unit.
