1. Important Safeguards

  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  • This appliance is for household use only.

The Oster 12L Oven Fryer is a versatile 3-in-1 appliance designed to simplify your cooking. It functions as an Air Fryer, a compact Oven, and a Dehydrator, offering a wide range of cooking possibilities for quick and healthy meals.

3. Setup and Assembly

Initial Setup:

  1. Unpack the appliance and all accessories from the box. Remove any packaging materials.
  2. Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.
  3. Wash all accessories (air flow racks, rotating mesh basket, rotisserie spit, drip tray, accessory removal hook) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before first use.
  4. Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around it.

Accessory Installation:

The Oster Oven Fryer comes with various accessories to enhance your cooking experience. Refer to the images below for proper installation.

Air Flow Racks:

Insert the air flow racks into the designated slots inside the oven cavity. They can be placed at different levels depending on the food and desired cooking method.

Rotating Mesh Basket:

For items like french fries or nuts that require constant tumbling for even cooking, use the rotating mesh basket. Insert the basket into the rotisserie connections inside the oven.

Rotisserie Spit:

The rotisserie spit is ideal for roasting whole chickens or larger cuts of meat. Secure the food onto the spit and insert it into the rotisserie connections.

Drip Tray:

Always place the drip tray at the bottom of the oven cavity to collect any oil or food drippings, making cleanup easier.

4. Operating Instructions

Control Panel Overview:

The Oster Oven Fryer features an intuitive digital control panel with various icons for pre-programmed functions and manual settings.

Basic Operation:

  1. Power On/Off: Press the power icon to turn the appliance on or off.
  2. Setting Temperature: Use the temperature control icons (up/down arrows) to adjust the cooking temperature. The temperature range is 40°C to 200°C (105°F to 400°F).
  3. Setting Time: Use the time control icons (up/down arrows) to adjust the cooking duration.
  4. Start/Pause: Press the Play/Pause icon to start or temporarily pause the cooking cycle.
  5. Reprogram: While paused, you can adjust time or temperature settings before resuming.
  6. Internal Light: The appliance features an internal light for monitoring cooking progress through the transparent door.

Pre-programmed Functions:

The appliance includes 4 pre-programmed settings for common dishes:

  • Vegetables: Optimized for cooking various vegetables.
  • French Fries: Ideal for crispy french fries.
  • Poultry: Suitable for chicken, turkey, and other poultry.
  • Meats: For cooking different types of meat.

Customizable Functions:

In addition to pre-programmed settings, you can manually select from 5 customizable functions:

  • Dehydrate: For drying fruits, vegetables, and jerky.
  • Air Fry: For oil-free frying, achieving crispy results.
  • Bake: For baking various dishes like cakes, casseroles, or roasted items.
  • Reheat: For warming up leftovers.
  • Rotisserie: Activates the 360° rotation for the rotisserie spit or rotating basket, ensuring even cooking.

5. Cooking Functions

Air Frying:

Air frying uses rapid hot air circulation to cook food, producing a crispy exterior with little to no oil. Use the air flow racks or the rotating mesh basket for best results.

Baking/Roasting:

The appliance functions as a compact oven, suitable for baking and roasting. Use the air flow racks for baking trays or dishes.

Dehydrating:

The dehydrate function allows you to preserve fruits, vegetables, and make jerky by removing moisture at low temperatures.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Oster Oven Fryer.

Before Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

Cleaning Accessories:

  • The air flow racks, rotating mesh basket, rotisserie spit, and drip tray are dishwasher safe or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water.
  • For stubborn food residue, soak the accessories in warm water before cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning pads or harsh chemicals on any part of the appliance or accessories.

Cleaning the Interior and Exterior:

  • Wipe the interior and exterior surfaces of the appliance with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
  • Ensure no water enters the electrical components.
  • Clean the transparent door with a soft cloth to maintain visibility.

Storage:

  • Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
  • Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing.

7. Troubleshooting
