  • Keep the unit dry. Do not expose to rain, moisture, or high humidity.
  • Do not touch the flash tube immediately after firing, as it can be hot.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Use only the specified charging cable and battery.
  • Avoid direct eye exposure to the flash, especially at close range, as it may impair vision.

4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Battery

The Lux Senior flash includes a built-in rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery using the provided charging cable.

5.2. Mode Selection

The Lux Senior offers two primary flash modes:

  • A Mode (Automatic Flash): In this mode, the flash automatically adjusts its output based on the ambient light and camera settings. The default sensitivity is ISO100 and aperture F2.8. This mode simplifies operation, allowing the flash to determine the appropriate light output.
  • M Mode (Manual Flash): This mode provides full manual control over the flash output. You can adjust the power dial to select from 7 different power levels. M mode also includes two optical slave functions:
    • S1 Light-controlled Synchronous Flash Trigger: The flash will fire in response to the first flash from a master flash.
    • S2 Light-controlled Anti-pre-flash Trigger: The flash will ignore the pre-flash from a master flash and fire in response to the main flash.

5.3. Foldable Reflector Operation

The Lux Senior features a retractable hidden lamp tube and a foldable reflector to shape your light. To deploy the reflector, gently pull it outwards until it locks into position. To retract, push it back into the unit. This allows for creative control over the light spread.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning

To clean the flash unit, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use strong detergents, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

6.2. Battery Care

To prolong battery life:

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its health.
  • Store the flash in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
