3. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your M.2 NVMe SSD into the enclosure:

  1. Open the Enclosure: Gently slide open the enclosure to reveal the internal tray. The tool-free design allows for easy access.
  2. Insert the SSD: Align your M.2 NVMe SSD (M-Key or M+B Key) with the slot on the internal tray. Insert the SSD firmly into the slot at an angle, then gently press it down.
  3. Secure the SSD: Use the provided rubber fastener or screw (if applicable) to secure the end of the SSD to the tray. Ensure the SSD is flat and stable.
  4. Apply Thermal Pad (Optional but Recommended): If a thermal pad is included, remove its protective films and place it on top of the SSD's controller chip. This enhances heat dissipation.
  5. Close the Enclosure: Slide the internal tray back into the aluminum casing until it clicks securely into place.

Initial Disk Preparation (New SSDs Only):

For new SSDs, partitioning and formatting are required before the drive can be recognized and used by your operating system.

For Windows Systems:

  1. Press the Win + X keys simultaneously on your keyboard.
  2. From the menu that appears, select "Disk Management". Alternatively, type "diskmgmt.msc" in the Run dialog (Windows Key + R) and press Enter.
  3. In the Disk Management window, locate your new SSD (it will likely appear as 'Unallocated Space').
  4. Right-click on the unallocated space and select "New Simple Volume". Follow the on-screen wizard to partition and format the drive.

For Mac Systems:

  1. Click on the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen.
  2. Select "About This Mac" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the window that opens, click on the "Storage" tab.
  4. To access Disk Utility, go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
  5. In Disk Utility, select your new SSD from the sidebar.
  6. Click the "Erase" button. Choose a format (e.g., APFS or Mac OS Extended) and a scheme (e.g., GUID Partition Map), then click Erase.

4. Operating Instructions

Once your SSD is installed and formatted, connect the enclosure to your device using one of the provided USB cables.

  1. Connect to Device: Plug the appropriate USB cable (USB-C to USB-A or USB-C to USB-C) into the enclosure's USB-C port and then into a compatible port on your computer, laptop, or other device.
  2. Accessing Data: The enclosure is plug-and-play, requiring no additional drivers. Your operating system should automatically detect the drive. You can access your data through File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS).
  3. Safe Removal: Always safely eject the drive from your operating system before disconnecting the cable to prevent data corruption.
