1. Introduction

This instruction manual provides comprehensive guidance for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of your Mount-It! MI-766 Dual Monitor Wall Mount. This mount is designed to support two monitors up to 27 inches each, featuring full motion articulation and a gas spring system for easy adjustments. 4. Setup and Installation

Before installation, determine your wall type (wood stud, concrete, or brick) and ensure it can support the weight. A stud finder and level are recommended.

4.1. Wood Stud Mounting

1. Locate the Stud: Use a stud finder to locate the center of a wood stud at your desired mounting height.
2. Mark Pilot Holes: Hold the wall mount against the wall, ensuring it is level. Mark the center of the mounting holes with a pencil.
3. Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes using a 3/16 inch (4.5 mm) drill bit to a depth of 2.2 inches (55 mm).
4. Attach Mount to Wall: Secure the wall mount to the wall using the provided lag screws and washers. Tighten until secure, but do not overtighten.

4.2. Concrete or Brick Wall Mounting

1. Mark Pilot Holes: Hold the wall mount against the wall, ensuring it is level. Mark the center of the mounting holes with a pencil.
2. Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes using a 3/8 inch (10 mm) drill bit to a depth of 2.4 inches (60 mm).
3. Insert Anchors: Insert the concrete anchors into the drilled pilot holes.
4. Attach Mount to Wall: Secure the wall mount to the wall using the provided lag screws and washers. Tighten until secure, but do not overtighten.

4.3. Attaching Monitors to VESA Plates

1. Prepare Monitor: Place your monitor face down on a soft, clean surface. Select the appropriate size mounting bolts and washers for your monitor's VESA holes (75x75mm or 100x100mm).
2. Install Top Bolts: Install the top two bolts and washers into the monitor's VESA holes, leaving a gap of approximately 0.11 inches (3 mm) between the screw head and the monitor surface.
3. Hang Monitor: Carefully hang the monitor onto the top of the VESA plate on the arm, ensuring the top bolts slide into the keyhole slots.
4. Install Lower Bolts: Install the lower two bolts and washers through the lower VESA holes and tighten all four bolts until secure. Do not overtighten.
5. Repeat for the second monitor.

4.4. Cable Management

To maintain a tidy workspace, route your monitor cables through the integrated cable management system.

1. Remove Covers: Use the provided hex wrench to remove the bolts securing the cable management covers on the underside of each arm. Gently pull the covers away.
2. Route Cables: Route your monitor cables (power, video, etc.) along the arm channels.
3. Replace Covers: Replace the covers and secure them with their bolts.

5. Operating and Adjustments

The Mount-It! MI-766 offers a range of adjustments to achieve optimal viewing angles and ergonomic positioning.

5.1. Gas Spring Tension Adjustment

The gas spring system allows for effortless height adjustment. The tension needs to be calibrated to your monitor's weight.

1. Access Tension Bolt: Position the monitor horizontally. Lift the arm slightly to access the tension adjustment bolt located on the arm.
2. Adjust Tension: Use the provided hex wrench to adjust the tension:
   • Rotate counter-clockwise (towards '+') for heavier monitors (to increase tension).
   • Rotate clockwise (towards '-') for lighter monitors (to decrease tension).
3. Test Adjustment: Continue adjusting until the arm stays in place when you move the monitor to different heights.

5.2. Height, Swivel, Tilt, and Rotation

• Height Adjustment: Once the gas spring tension is correctly set, you can raise or lower your monitors by hand to your desired ergonomic height.
• Swivel: The monitor arms can swivel up to 90 degrees left or right from the central mounting point, allowing for flexible positioning.
• Tilt: Monitors can be tilted from +90 degrees to -45 degrees to reduce glare and optimize viewing angles. If the monitor droops or won't hold its angle, tighten the side bolts on the VESA plate connection.
• Rotation: Each monitor can be rotated 360 degrees, allowing for landscape or portrait orientation.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your monitor mount.

• Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they are tight and secure. Re-tighten if necessary.
• Gas Spring: If the gas spring tension feels off, re-adjust it according to the instructions in Section 5.1.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Mount-It! MI-766, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

• Monitor is drooping or not holding its height:
  • The gas spring tension may be too low for your monitor's weight. Increase the gas spring tension (rotate counter-clockwise) as described in Section 5.1.
• Monitor is difficult to move or stays too high:
  • The gas spring tension may be too high for your monitor's weight. Decrease the gas spring tension (rotate clockwise) as described in Section 5.1.
• Monitor tilts unexpectedly or won't hold its tilt angle:
  • Tighten the side bolts on the VESA plate connection that control the tilt mechanism.
• Mount feels unstable on the wall:
  • Ensure all lag screws securing the mount to the wall are fully tightened. Re-check the wall type and ensure appropriate anchors/stud mounting was used. If unsure, consult a professional.
