6. Assembly Instructions
The roof basket features a welded frame that comes in four sections for easy assembly. It is recommended to have two people for assembly and installation.
- Unpack all components and verify against the package contents list.
- Connect the four sections of the roof basket frame using the provided screws and nuts. Ensure all connections are secure but do not fully tighten yet.
- Attach the front, side, and back fairings to the basket using the appropriate screws. The front fairing helps minimize drag and noise.
- Position the assembled basket onto your vehicle's crossbars. Ensure it is centered and properly aligned.
- Place the foam padding between the basket and the crossbars to protect your vehicle's finish.
- Secure the basket to the crossbars using the 4 U-bolts, bracket top plates, washers, and wing nuts. Ensure the U-bolts are positioned around the crossbars and through the basket's frame.

7. Operating Instructions
7.1 Loading Cargo
The WEIZE roof rack provides an extra 10 to 13 square feet of storage space. When loading, distribute the weight evenly and place heavier items at the bottom and center of the basket. Ensure no items protrude excessively from the sides or front/rear of the basket.
7.2 Securing Cargo
Use the included accessories to secure your cargo:
- Waterproof Cargo Bag: Place items inside the waterproof bag (44"x34"x18") to protect them from weather elements. Ensure the zipper faces the rear of the vehicle to prevent water intrusion during travel.
- Cargo Net: Drape the 36"x48" cargo net over your loaded items and hook it to the sides of the basket to keep items compressed and prevent shifting.
- Tie-Down Straps: Utilize the two heavy-duty 12ft tie-down straps (rated for 2200lbs) to further secure large or heavy items. Thread the straps through the basket frame and over your cargo, tightening them securely.

8. Maintenance
The roof basket is constructed from tubular steel with a powder coat finish, designed for durability and resistance to rust and corrosion. To maximize the lifespan of your roof rack:
- Periodically inspect the entire rack for any signs of wear, damage, or rust.
- Clean the rack with mild soap and water, then dry thoroughly.
- For enhanced protection against rust, especially in harsh environments, consider applying truck bedliner paint to the entire rack.
- When not in use, storing the roof rack indoors can further extend its life.
- Regularly check the tightness of all bolts and connections, particularly after long trips or exposure to vibrations.
9. Troubleshooting
9.1 Rack Not Fitting Crossbars
If the U-bolts do not fit around your crossbars, re-check the dimensions of your crossbars against the specifications (maximum thickness 1.35", maximum width 4.6"). Ensure the U-bolts are correctly oriented. If dimensions are incompatible, the rack cannot be safely installed.
9.2 Excessive Noise or Drag
Ensure the front fairing is correctly installed. The fairing is designed to minimize wind noise and drag. Verify that all components are tightly secured and that cargo is loaded aerodynamically. Adjusting the position of the basket on the crossbars may also help reduce noise.
9.3 Cargo Shifting During Transit
Always use the cargo net and tie-down straps to secure all items. Ensure straps are taut and the net is firmly hooked. Distribute weight evenly. Re-tighten straps after the first few miles of driving.
9.4 Water Intrusion into Cargo Bag
Ensure the waterproof cargo bag's zipper is fully closed and positioned towards the rear of the vehicle. This orientation helps prevent water from entering the bag during rain or high speeds. Verify that the bag itself is not damaged.
9.5 Rack Appears Tilted
Some roof rack designs may exhibit a slight upward angle when unloaded. This can be an intentional design feature to allow for leveling once cargo is added. If the tilt is significant or causes concern, verify that the rack is installed correctly and all mounting points are evenly tightened. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
