2. Setup

2.1 Powering the Devices

The main weather station can be powered by either the included AC adapter or 3x AA batteries (not included). The outdoor sensor requires 2x AA batteries (not included).

  • Main Station: Insert 3x AA batteries into the battery compartment, or connect the AC adapter to the power port and a wall outlet. When powered by AC, the display backlight can remain continuously on. When powered by batteries, the backlight will activate for 15 seconds after a touch.
  • Outdoor Sensor: Insert 2x AA batteries into the outdoor sensor's battery compartment. Ensure the temperature unit switch (F/C) inside the battery compartment is set to your preferred unit.

2.2 Sensor Pairing

Once both the main station and the outdoor sensor are powered, they should automatically pair. The outdoor temperature and humidity readings will appear on the main station's display. If pairing does not occur automatically, refer to the troubleshooting section.

The weather station supports up to three outdoor sensors. If you have additional sensors, ensure they are set to different channels (CH1, CH2, CH3) before powering them on. The main station will cycle through the readings of all connected sensors.

2.3 Placement

The main station can be placed on a flat surface using its integrated stand or mounted on a wall. The outdoor sensor should be placed in a shaded, well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and precipitation, within 100 meters (open field) of the main station.

3.3 DCF Radio-Controlled Clock

The weather station automatically synchronizes its time with the DCF radio signal, ensuring atomic clock precision. The time and date are displayed prominently for easy readability, especially for seniors.

3.4 Non-Contact Indoor Sensor

Unlike traditional weather stations, the Newentor Q7 features a unique non-contact indoor sensor. This design prevents the display's heat from influencing the indoor temperature and humidity readings, thereby enhancing accuracy and sensitivity.

3.5 Weather Forecast and Air Pressure

The weather station displays symbols indicating the forecast for the next 12-24 hours (e.g., sunny, partly cloudy, rainy, snowy). These forecasts are based on atmospheric pressure changes. You can manually adjust the barometer setting to match your local weather office's atmospheric pressure for more accurate local predictions.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the display and unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the main unit and outdoor sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Outdoor Sensor Care: Periodically check the outdoor sensor for debris or obstructions. Ensure it remains in a protected, shaded location for optimal performance and longevity.

5. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
